not that it matters, but would have liked to see mido and ghaly stripped of 11 and 14 and these two numbers given to Bent and Boateng respectively, while Stalteri as number 7 is silly, would much rather Lennon got it!

Lennon had 25 when he was at Leeds... so im guessing he wants 25... rarther than being stuck with it as such...

what i saw of Salti when he came on against torino gave me every confidence that he would do an admirable job at left back for us. He gave us width and discipline, and always stayed out there , which can be hard for a player sometimes when they are not used to the LB position.

With Steed playing in front of him, i think they would combine extremely effectively on the left, and sow it up for us....both are solid and dependable professionals, who know how to take advantage of a situation when required, and when to remain defensively solid, and can communicate well....

Ide prefer to see Chimbonda on his favoured right, and let Steed and Salti control the left...

as for the rest, Its all in the managers hands!, and i have every confidence that we have both the squad, spirit, and Strategic sensibility to deal with everything that is thrown at us, and give back even better!... ;)

COYS!!!!

Fair enough, but there's going to be a problem with subs this season isn't there. Obviously there will have to be a defender on the bench, i.e. Gardner/Rocha for their versatility. A midfielder will also mostly be a requirement although Keane dropping back is always an option, and we'd all like to see what Taarabt can do. That means that often one of our fab four strikers is likely to not even make the bench. How's that going to sit with them? It's one thing being on the bench a lot and coming on for a few minutes as a sub, but I can't see anybody being happy with that.

It makes you realise just how big our squad is when you see it like that. I really think we need to get rid of a few of these guys otherwise it could affect team morale.

Having people like Murphy, Ghaly, Mido and Routledge not playing regularly will not only upset these four, but upset all the youngsters who see additional barriers to getting a game.

Danny Rose has been given squad no 37 which must mean he will be used at some time during the season.

mido's kept 11, so when he goes there's a vacancy there. hmm that is THE natural number for a left-wiinger

Means nothing whatsoever apart from not having to deal with any additional administrative duties during the season if he was to warm the bench. Will Dervitte start then???

Looking at the squads suggested my only definite NO NO NO is Chimbonda at left back. He proved beyond any shadow of doubt that he has no clue how to play there or willingness to do so. I'd rather see my fellow Canuck Stalteri play at left back, he is a true professional who always gives 100% effort plus he'd be delighted to be in the team versus warming the bench.
