Real Madrid midfielder Guti has expressed interest in a move to Tottenham, according to reports in Spain.
Spurs boss Martin Jol is reportedly planning a £5 million offer for the 30-year-old Spain international.
The Spanish newspaper El Mundo Deportivo reports Guti is keen to test himself in the Premiership and would study any offer that arrived from Spurs.

Sounds like a great idea,
bit of a hot head but better then that pussy Jenas I'd take him could play on the left doesn't have to be a winger.
Lennon Boateng Zakora Guti
Could work i spose

I suppose any new signings would be an improvement upon what we have, but Guti wouldn't really solve our width problem. Only a natural winger could truly help us.

We are desperate for a LW and a playmaker (yes, I think it is now correct to use the word desperate, if we want to finish in top 4) - and Guti is one of the most talented playmakers around, who can pick a killler pass and has a great vision on the pitch. He is not very consistent and his influence can sometimes wane during the match - but same can be said to a degree about anyone, incl Ronaldinho (see Brazil's games)/ Zidane etc.
It would of course be a risk, as there would also be concerns about his application, but if we can get him on loan for a year with an option of permanent signing afterwards, that would not cost too much money (albeit of course his wages would have to be HIGH to attract him) and give KP Boateng time to develop into the playmaker we need in the Prem league. If KPB is ready then, we either do not sign Guti permanently or keep him as one of the 2 creative midfielders who can attack.

Guti is a wonderful player, possibly the most underrated midfielder for Real. He's got skills, vision and great passing. Its a wonder that he doesnt get enough games for Real.

Buying more and more players is not the answer .
- we bought KPB before getting ridd of the talented Ghaly and people on this site are stating as a fact that KPB is an improvement when they have never even seen him .
- people are saying we need to buy cover for Lennon but look how Routledge did when he came on for the first time in a year .
If we got the best out of what we've got we would be OK .
We started to click in the second half against Everton .
No quick fixes .

I too am becoming unhappy at all this money we're chucking around when we seem to have replacements in the squad. However, I don't think we can escape the fact that Guti (if the rumour really is true) would vastly improve our team. As someone else has said, he is vastly underrated. Great player on his day, and when he is having a bad day he can't be much worse than Jenas is at the moment.
Was thinking about why on earth we sold Mendes yesterday. He is suerly better than Jenas or Zokora. Can anyone really say that our central midfield of 2 years ago (Davis and Mendes) is much worse than Jenas and Zokora now?
I am naturally much more concerned at the rumour of chucking £8m - 10m at WBA for Davies. What has happened to our shrewd signings policy this summer? Panic signing of the summer me thinks. Untried in the premiership? Check. Already an abundance of talent in our defence (albeit freakishly injoured at the moment)? Check. Right, so lets splash the cash on a D1 defender. Barmy spending - indicative of our summer transfer 'policy' (if true).
