Martin Jol has been handed some good news on the injury front with Gareth Bale returning to full training today (Thursday).

Our summer signing from Southampton has been out since the friendly against St Patrick's on July 12 with thigh and knee problems.

"Today was the first day he's trained so we have to wait and see how he feels," said Martin.

Young-Pyo Lee is also back in full training after returning from the knee injury he sustained in the UEFA Cup quarter-final against Sevilla in April.

However, Martin still has a host of injuries to cope with including Dimitar Berbatov, Teemu Tainio, Michael Dawson and Younes Kaboul.

Great news re. Bale and Lee! Lets hope one or both of them (LB and LW) can play on saturday, tho I guess its unlikely with the lack of match fitness that both is likely to have!?

Taino injured again??? Surely not!? I wish that boy, more than anyone, could catch a break and be fit for a whole season, or at least most of it!

Just received a textssage "Daniel Levy ha ofrecido 9 million de euros por Guti" Daniel Levy has offered 9 million euros for Guti. I live out here in Spain and my mate is a Madrid fan and normally I wouldnt give credit to this but the fact that he was able to say Daniel Levy gives it a little more credit... although could be complete bollocks.

Would be great to have Dumbo and Lee available for Saturday. If that was the case at least we wouldn't have to play Salty at left back. Admirable that he gave it a go but ..........

Hopefully they'll both make it and we can play LYP - LB, Bale - LM/W - at least we'd have some width and creativity down the left. We might just limp a much needed 3 pts.

It's been a hell of a weird start to the season - I don't think it's helped that we've played our matches at different days/times to most of the league with both of them being live on SKY. Extra coverage and intrusion on our present guffness.

Is anybody else worried about the sheer size of the squad? I mean understandably it has come in handy now, but in times like these I would have preferred a young player from the reserves rather than a player clearly not up to premiership standard (we all know who they are).

I think those players have been injured as well! - even Danny Rose got injured and he wasn't even anywhere near WHL or the training ground.

Rose is currently playing with England U-16 (17?) in a tournament in Europe.

I am going to show my ignorance of the reserves, but there is always mills, Dervitte, Ifil (with PC in the middle).....I know ppl will say they are not ready but when was the last time we played a youngster for a couple of games?

Yeah - but didn't he get injured out there? Maybe I'm wrong.

Thank God that, so many injuries I might do myself one if we lose Sat.

I say let Bale have a runout for 20mins if we are 2-0 up my the 70th.

Oh, and one more thing....

Buy a t-shirt.

Is there any news of BAE? He's been out for a very long time.
I'd like to see Bale given a try at left midfield, rather than panic buy Taylor from Portsmouth, who's an inferior player as far as I can see.

England Head Coach John Peacock has suffered a major setback after Danny Rose was ruled out of the World Cup with a stress fracture.

The Tottenham midfielder, influential as England reached the Final of the European Championships in May, complained of some discomfort in his leg and after an examination from medical staff Peacock’s worst fears were confirmed.

The first stage of our comeback from a disasterous start. Injury free no-one can stop them,
bring on the Derby,
'cos we are Tottenham

I'd take an unfit Lee or Bale over an out-of-position Gardner or Stalteri.

I'd prefer Lee to start and Bale to come on in the second half. It would ease Lee back into play after being out so long, and it would also ease Bale into the premiership (although I guess he has plenty of experience vs Derby).

Does anybody know where the likes of Adel taarabt and Kevin Prince Boatang are? We desperately need some of the new faces to play in the team,at least they might try that little bit harder and make more of an impact! It is a good thing that Bale and Lee are getting back to fitness but we really need something to get us back track! SOMEONE PLEASE HELP I CAN'T TAKE ANYMORE :bang: COYS!!!

Boateng Quote: - I don't expect to go straight into the team because I am not 100 per cent fit. I did not play any pre-season games in Germany and I need a bit of time, maybe two or three weeks. But don't put me under pressure because it is my first season. If I play 10 or so games I will be happy.

i fail to understand how we can have so many injuries when we are only into our second league game, and that after a full summer to get into resonably good condition. Is there something wrong with either our training system or our medical staff? Many of these injuries have lasted for months.Should King for example not have had this latest surgery much earlier?Ibet our ratio of injuries to squad size is one of the highest in the league?

Our defensive injury crisis has been crazy and glad to hear that Lee is on his way back. Re: the injury to Berbs - blessing in disguise?
