View Full Version : Mido To Middlesbrough
Source: Official Site
We have reached agreement for the permanent transfer of Mido to Middlesbrough.
Mido joined us permanently from Roma in August 2006 after an initial 18-month loan spell.
He scored 11 goals in 27 appearances in 2005-06 and five goals in 23 appearances last season, a campaign affected by injury.
We wish him all the best.

good luck son. always liked him. he was amazing in his first appearance, and totally crap in others. still, he contributed well during a certain period in 2005/2006 and i always had a soft spot for him. guarenteed he scores against us.

Maybe that's the little extra cash we needed to buy Quaresma (I know I'm getting carried away but its two games into the season, I haven't seen anything jaw-droppingly good from my team and I'm a Spurs fan).

Best of luck to him, except against us obviously. Always rated him, and when he had a regualr run like during his first season he showed true quality, it was only when he was in and out of the team after Berbatov signed that his form and fitness suffered. Let us not forget that he was a key part of the team that narrowly missed finishing fourth two seasons ago, a team that managed to gain access to europe through the league for the first time in years, and that the fact we could offer european football allowed us to sign a better calibre pf player, eg Berbatov. Funny really, how technically his goals, assists and good performances actually contributed to his own downfall, shame really.

The move is ideal for him. They are the least likely relegation candidates of the 3 clubs in for him, and will play him every game, so he will have the chance to find the kind of form he had when he first came here.

As said above lets not forget Mido was a big part of the 05/06 team that nearly finished 4th. He was also about 6 inches away from putting us into the Carling Cup final last year.
Watch the season review and you will see how many goals he either scored or was involved in - like Michael Carrick also!
Even watching last seasons review, Ghaly was involved in quite a few of our goals......small case to bring him back into the fold and push Jenas!
Anyway, went a bit off track there
Good Luck Mido (except against the Yids)

Good luck to Mido, Was good for us 2005-2006 season and last season he just didnt get a run of games because of injury and the form of Berba! Sure he will do well again when he is play week in week out!

I think he'll do well there with Downing crossing to his fat bonce and left peg
he offered us some aggression up front and that'll be missed unless Bent puts himself about
I won't miss his comebacks though - talk about needing to be played into form and fitness..

just at this moment in in time, i'd like to see somebody upfront like Mido turning round and applauding a team mate for trying a pass, unlike Keane turning around & throwing his arms in the air & berating a team mate for just not quite playing it into his path, will miss him on defensive set-pieces as well, I remember the Fulham game last season-turned our season around.....Best of luck Big Fella

Bet the pie sellers near our training ground are worried about their long term future after both Andy Reid and Mido have stopped propping up their business.........

Its ok, Robinson, Keane, Huddlestone and King are all capable of putting on a few pounds, aspecially King when he's got a long injury (remember when he came back v Sevilla last season too early?)

To the people suggesting we should now invest on Curtis Davies from the baggies, for the ridiculous and over inflated price once again for a young British player of £ 10 million pound! surely your got to be joking right. When other areas of the team should take priority like a creative midfielder, or a player who can play with his left peg other than to stand on it.
I suggest Morte Gamst Pedersen like i thought before the summer transfer dealings even took place, for a start he would offer the team some much needed balance unlike Malbranque. Who is not cut out to play on the left wing, only thing is the Gunners are also intrested and can we afford to get involved in a bidding war, with them being able to offer higher wages plus the prospect of Champions league football i think not.
Also regarding Curtis Davies despite being a extremely talented footballer where is he meant to play once all our injuries clear up, answer that and get back to me. He wouldn't exactly want to come into the team at the moment either as he would be under immense preassure alongside players in a defensive unit that is a complete and utter shambles, nar please Jol don't waste more money on a player we don't actually need Please.

I still have a strange feeling that he's being looked at as cover for right back, should Chimbonda go to Chelsea. Not saying that's the right way to go, just my feeling.

So according to yourself young Phil Ifil has no chance of progressing at Tottenham, surely then if that's the case Jol would of got rid of him by now afterall his been at the club three seasons since making his deubt against Liverpool.
