Our Premiership clash with Aston Villa at White Hart Lane on October 1 has been selected as the game that will mark the Club's official 125th Anniversary. This very special match will be played in honour of the late Bill Nicholson, the manager under whom Spurs recorded the domestic double in 1961, and became first English Club to win a European trophy in 1963.
On September 30, 1882, a group of boys from Hotspur Cricket Club attending the local grammar school played their first football match in the guise of Hotspur FC - a derby against local rivals, Radicals. Little can they have imagined that the Club that now bears their name would become one of the most recognisable names in world football, with a host of honours to its name.

It is with the 125th Anniversary in mind that the Villa game, the closest game to the actual date, will reflect on the Club’s glorious history.

The match is set to be a spectacular event, with the attendance of Spurs legends, and pre-match entertainment in and around the ground. Not only that, the first team will play for the first and only time in our 125 Special Edition Anniversary strip.

The Club will be releasing more details over the next few weeks, but be sure to get your tickets now so you don’t miss out on what will be a memorable night at The Lane.

Tickets are on sale to members now, and to the general public on August 23.

not sure how adding extra entertainment at no extra cost in honour of an occasion and of a great man is in anyway an attempt to fleece us. as far as i can tell, when i got my season ticket there wasn't a note coming with it saying i would have to pay extra to go see the Villa game, or did i just overlook that?

Wow, who took the jam out of your doughnut?

Nice to show ur support of tradition there as well. It's not gonna cost anymore than a normal game so ur talkin bollocks and nobody is being forced to buy the anniversary shirt either so I really dont see what ur going on about.

Funny how Setena picked that game at the start of the season first time Tottenham will be playing on that station in a competitive game. Should be a great ocassion as usual i will only be there in spirit, but certainley shall be watching it from close quarters on television. Rest in Peace to old Bill Nicholson a True Tottenham legend and a great man also, thanks for putting us on the map.
