Tottenham are ready to take advantage of a West Ham 'fire sale' with a £2.5m bid for Scott Parker.
Financial worries will force the Hammers to consider any offers for leading players in the January transfer window.
And Spurs boss Juande Ramos has identified boyhood Spurs fan Parker as a midfield target.
Parker is under contract until 2012 and Everton have shown interest, but he wants to stay in London.

Not sure Parker brings anything we don't already have to the club. We are in need of an out-and-out defensive midfielder, but for £2.5m it couldn't hurt.

Weve tried to sign him twice before and he's always chased the money. Not interested. If he was that much of a fan he would have jumped at the chance to play for us years ago. Right now we need players who are gonna play for the shirt not the money.

we need people to put there bodies on the line for the club. if the balls about to cross the line, i want players stopping it with there face if need be.
Parker is not one of those players.....

aint they all
think this is just journos trying to fill space, west ham need money, we need signings, parker has been previously linked
he is a tough tackler.. i think he payed against arsenal when he broke his teeth in the game... he was signed as replacment for makalele when he was at chelsea.. could be the leader were so badly lacking at the moment.. not a bad shout for 2.5....

At least he is a proven player in the Premiership which we sorely need right now. The Premier is such a robust league compared to most others that we need to sign players who can cope or adjust quickly to those rigours.

You may well be right there. If he is available though I wouldn't mind seeing him at Spurs as he would add a bit of grit to the midfield. He does seem to have become a bit hampered by injuries since he left Charlton though.

Do it. This is the kind of signing we need. Cheap, industrious midfielder who will talk to his teammates and show some leadership. He's not a world beater but he is definitely a step in the right direction, as long as he is fit. Put it this way he is better than Tainio and we actually miss Tainio and his work ethic, not to mention Malbranque. Parker and Jenas is better than Zokora and Jenas. It is going to be bloody hard work to stay up this year.

my only concern with him is his height, we are very short as it is. but he is a fighter and a leader, something we seriously lack.
i wonder if i'm the only fan who thinks jimmy bullard would be a masterstoke
