Darren Bent believes things can only get better from here as the team remain at the bottom of the Barclays Premier League table having picked up just two points from our first eight games of the campaign.

We suffered our sixth defeat of the season at Stoke City on Sunday, and the striker has admitted the disappointment among the squad.

But Darren, who notched his fourth goal of the season in the 2-1 reverse, is refusing to be too downbeat.

He feels we showed enough quality in spells at the Britannia Stadium to prove we have what it takes to win games.

"The mood was very low in the dressing room after the game because nobody likes to lose," said Darren.

"But we're trying to keep the spirits up despite being bottom of the league, because we know the only way is up, we just have to start winning games.

"Stoke was a difficult game, especially after going down to ten men so early on, but after that I thought we played the better stuff.

"In the first half I thought we kept the ball well, created chances and I thought there was a really positive buzz in the changing room at half-time.

"But in the second half they just pressed and pressed, and after a while, they just grinded us down."

All these positive, we played well even though we lost statements are really starting to grate. The fact of the matter is we're bottom of the league, we've lost 6 games in 8, and looking at the fixture it list makes my heart sink as I can just see every team we come up against beating us. We will be relegated unless we can start putting wins together; forget the pretty football, find the grit that wins games Tottenham! Otherwise, we will be a championship team next season. This situation reminds me of Leeds a few years back. Spend loads of money, get relegated. Look where they are now.

The only way isn't up you Muppet we can be fucking relegated or doesn't he realise that?

They need to shut the fuck up and let their football do the talking on the pitch.

The players need to be positive because they won't get out of this mess by dwelling on things. But they need to pull their fingers out. I actually think Bent is one player who, despite not being the best of strikers, comes out of all of this with a little bit of credit, because he has not stopped trying for the team and, even if one was a fluke of his arse, he has actually scored 3 goals in 8 games, which while not great, is not bad.

I said the other day and I mean it, no matter who speaks abuot what, I wil no longer criticise anything that comes from the club or the players other than the performances each match. If a player performs badly, I will say so. But I will no longer partake in mindless and unecessary abuse of any of our players, no matter what i think of them.

Unfortunately only a handful of the squad have the necessary grit. This is will also make life difficult for us when we are in the championship.

I applaud you, sir!

If only everybody would adopt a similar approach then we could step back from the current hysteria and the quick fix 'sack everybody' mentality that goes with it. The quickest way to get out of this mess is if everybody - including so-called fans - rallies around in support instead of shrieking like little girls.

Didnt Bent say something similar after Hull, or Portsmouth, or Villa? We can only improve, no actually you can get worse, and have.

While im guessing that we have to privide interviewees after every game, i wish our club would put a media ban on all our players, especially Bent and Bently who keep telling us a turn around is just around the corner.
Actions speak louder than words and on that front we are very very quiet

Pav , GDS and Campbell have done nothing to suggest that they should start ahead of Bent .

Bent is supposedly out of form but has still delivered the goods so far this season .

He is the most likely of our strikers to hit a vein of form which will dig us out of this hole .

This is off the topic, but im only trying to lighten the mood a bit here.

The White Hart Lane ground staff have laid paper on the pitch for the next home game. Ramos has enquired as to why they did this, and the groundsman replied, 'because Spurs look good on paper'

With Panto season coming up, Ramos is going for a part in Cinderella. He wants to be the pumpkin....in the hope that it will turn into a coach.

Sorry, I know there poor, but im ony trying to make what is a dark time brighter.

You have to hand it to Bent really. He has got goals this season in adverse circumstances. The ball through for his goal against Chelsea was lucky, he was offside Sunday and his two (the one disallowed) goals against Krakow were all very well taken. His missed a good chance against Hull but were he to get the service from a number ten, an on form Bentley and a better Lennon he would score.

Unlike many he never complained at being on the bench last year and has come in this season and provided our only source of goals really.
