Tottenham's troubles have continued off the pitch with their share price plummeting as fans prepare to protest at Sunday's home game with Bolton.

Chairman Daniel Levy has seen £180million wiped off the value of the club since the Carling Cup victory in March.

Shares in Tottenham were valued at just 77p when markets closed on Monday, plunging from the 92.5p they opened at at the start of the business week.

Their high this year was 181.5p on March 3 - just a few days after Spurs beat Chelsea at Wembley.

They dipped after that but climbed to around 145p at the beginning of last month following the £32million sale of Dimitar Berbatov to Manchester United only to slump alarmingly.

At their peak the club was valued at around £335m but it is estimated that more than £180m has been wiped off since then.

That could leave them open to a move from potential buyers but ENIC, who own more than 80 per cent of shares, are unlikely to sell while the stock is so low.

Instead Spurs will announce a healthy profit to the end of May this year when the annual meeting is held next month.

That will not include the £52million raised by Berbatov's move to United and Robbie Keane's switch to Liverpool.

Tottenham are also likely to spend big in the January transfer market in an attempt to solve their problems on the pitch and stave off relegation which would cost up to £100m.

Dropping into the Championship would also sidelined any hopes of building a new stadium and reaping the rewards of an improvement in revenue brought in by a larger capacity and more executive boxes.

Spurs supporters have yet to publicly vent their anger towards under-fire manager Juande Ramos and beleaguered chairman Levy.

And the large following at Stoke on Sunday preferred to sing throughout the game in support of the players instead of calling for dismissals at board and management levels.

But an action group is reported to be ready to distribute 25,000 leaflets at White Hart Lane this weekend in protest at the club's dire start to the Premier League campaign.

The group, called the 703 Club after the sports and community centre across the road from the ground where they meet before home games, is believed to consist of members of the Tottenham Action Group who forced previous owner Alan Sugar to sell up.

Sounds like the press are actually wanting this protest to go ahead.

Of course they do, it will give them something to write about, and help them poke fun/abuse us... I'm starting to think this thing is purely an invention of the media in the hope that some people will protest... I haven't seen any quotes from any groups of supporters or whatever...

Don't play their game, get behind the team, DO NOT PROTEST!

WIsh I was going on Sunday

You could probably write this story about 90% of PLC in the world

but it doesn't help when your product is twice as expensive and 1/3 as good.
