LONDON (AFP) - Tottenham Hotspur defender Michael Dawson denied Wednesday a Football Association (FA) charge of improper conduct levelled for the way he reacted to his sending-off at Stoke last weekend.

Dawson, a centre-half, was charged Tuesday after being dismissed in stoppage time during the defeat against Stoke on Sunday and the charge relates to his response when ordered off by referee Lee Mason in stoppage time.

"Tottenham Hotspur defender Michael Dawson has denied a charge of improper conduct and requested a personal hearing," said an FA statement.

A regulatory commission will hear Dawson's case on Thursday.

Tottenham are currently bottom of the Premier League following their worst start to a season which has left them without a win from their opening eight league matches.

At an independent Regulatory Commission hearing today, Tottenham Hotspur defender Michael Dawson has been warned to his future conduct.

Dawson was charged with improper conduct in relation to his behaviour after being shown a red card for serious foul play during Spurs' match against Stoke City on Sunday October 19.

This means Saturday's game against Liverpool will be the last of Dawson's three-match suspension and he will be available to face Manchester City on November 9.
