Why keep posting these ratings? Out of ten ratings are pointless anyway, how do quantitively measure someones performance? They do provoke discussion but mostly numbers are probably plucked out of the air. Can we measure the commentators' performance? The one who kept on getting King and Bent mixed up gets 3.5 and Houghton for slamming Gomes at any given moment gets 2.76.

For me:

Gomes - 5 (good stops don't compensate for the howler)
King - 5 (decent but failed when most needed- i.e. recover for the 2nd goal)
Bale - 4 (shocking really)
Hutton - 7 (meant expectations)
Lennon - 6 (didn't do much)
Modric - 7 (the only person comfortable on the ball. however those around him did not turn up)
GDS - 7 (best cross of the night - showed his ability when skinning the defender with ease. keep it coming!!)
Jenas - 5 (didn't turn up. lack fight esp in the end)
Zokora - 6 (versatile but useless - as always. rating based purely on effort)
Bent - don't even wanna talk about it. Not holding the ball well enough for 4-5-1
O-Hara - how anyone sent off in that fashion could get 5.5 is beyond me. He doesn't even deserve a score.

Team looks short on confidence and scared. The only way out is to score early goals against Bolton. Even then it would be a challenge to hold onto the lead.

Modric holds the key to us winning. He is class. GDS was good tonight but doubt he could do the same in the Prem. Modric to play a more advanced role - which means we should count on Jenas to feed the ball up from the defenders.
