Thomas Sorensen has played down his row with Alan Hutton, revealing he has accepted an apology from the Tottenham defender following the clash which left the Stoke goalkeeper with a cut eye.

Danish international Sorensen required 15 stitches to the eye injury after Hutton caught him in a collision during last weekend's 2-1 win for Stoke at the Britannia Stadium.

Earlier this week, Sorensen hit out at Hutton for the challenge saying it could have cuased him serious injury and the full-back quickly apologised for the incident.

Sorensen has accepted the apology, but insists the Scottish international could easily have avoided hitting him.

"Obviously I accept the apology, I have got nothing against him personally, the only thing I said is that sometimes you just need to take a little bit of care," Sorensen told Sky Sports News.

"I just felt he could have avoided to hit me and that is the only thing.

No problem

"I know it is football and that he didn't have bad intentions of hurting me so in that respect I have no problems with him.

"It is just some times like you saw in [Ben] Thatcher against [Pedro] Mendes he could have avoided it as well.

"It was not even 50-50 but one were you really have a chance of hurting someone they maybe should have pulled out.

"But okay we move on from that."

Hutton escaped a red card for the incident and Sorensen says it is not for him to decide if the clash deserved a dismissal.

"It is not for me to say [if it was a red card offence] that is the referee's job," added Sorensen. "The main thing was I didn't get seriously injured so we put that behind us and move on."

Yep, replays showed his own player certainly caught him in the face with more of an impact then Hutton did but from what i remember his own player caught him on the other side to the one that was bleeding so i presumed Hutton must have caught him in some way.

Certainly was nowhere near as bad as whats his name from Reading on Cech....Stephen something wasnt it?

Stephen Hunt, who quite deliberately kneed Cech in the head.

Hutton just caught his eyebrow (which is an area which bleeds a lot from the smallest cuts) with the bottom of his stud after Sorenen's team-mate kneed his head into the back of Huttons boot.

The keeper should watch a few replays before throwing blame about, and if I was Hutton I'd call him out in the press for daring to compare that challenge to the disgusting behaviour of Thatcher taking out Mendes.

I thought it was his own player but actually his own player kneed him in the back of the head and the cut above his eye was in fact from Hutton
