INJURY NEWS
Arsène Wenger is waiting on the fitness of Thiery Henry ahead of the North London derby on Saturday.
Source: Arsenal Official Site
The Arsenal captain has a problem with his sciatic nerve and tests will be conducted on Friday. Apart from that there were no new injuries in the defeat at Fulham on Wednesday.
“Thierry has to be assessed and we’ll make a decision on him tomorrow,” said Wenger. “It is a problem with his sciatic nerve. Everybody else has come through the game well.”
The Frenchman rotated his squad for the fixture at Craven Cottage and pledged further changes for Tottenham's first visit to Emirates Stadium. He remain tight-lipped regarding the players who will go in and out but promised that the crucial Champions League game against Porto would have no influence.
“Not at all,” said Wenger. “The Tottenham game is the important game of the week now. It is in front of us. We must give everything to win this game.

The sciatic nerve runs down the lower back and through the legs I think! If he's got sciatica, that can be bloody painful so hopefully he'll be out. Strange though, considering he was meant to have a neck injury before.

It would be nice if Wenger could come up with something slightly original, at least sat a different player is a doubt for a change. His saying this means Henry is 100% definite to play!

Who gives a fcuk about "Look at me Henry"? Ledley has him in his pocket. With no Pires to haunt us and having a full sized pitch to play on at home, they have no chance. Troi Points from Les Emirates, Merci.

Oh rubbish. You should read more carefully.
It's the sciatic nerve, it runs from one of your lower vertebrae, through the pelvis and down the leg. It's extremely common for people with back injuries affecting the lower vertebrae to have the sciatic nerve come under pressure, which can cause quite severe pain starting in the lower back, shooting into the buttock and down the leg.
It even has a name: it's called sciatica.
He'll play
you can bet on it

this is Wengers way of giving the scum a much needed lift when he informs the world that Henry's fit for the game on saturday!! i am also getting a deja vu feeling as i'm sure this happens before every north london derby??!!

Dead right, and believe me, once you get it, you feel it every day of your life, unless you have an operation, which is something you don't want.

If he doesn't play then it will be great for us but we should prepare the same way whether he's playing or not. I just hope we put out the right line up. For me:
Robbo
Chimbo Dawson King Ekotto
Lennon Zokora Tainio? Malbranque?
Berbatov Defoe?
Only consideration is other CM, personally wish Tainio was fit for this one. I personally fear Huddlestone could do a bottle job at this stage if he was to play. Davids gives the ball away too much, but could be the right player. Murphy seems unlikely. Ghaly not ideal but Jol seems to polish himself off over the lad, although he may play over Malbranque if we look to be more solid defensively. What we must do is hustle them and close them down quick and I think we'll do them. There is only really three spots to be decided anyway unless Jol goes for a change, three up top perhaps? I think Berbatov could become a Spurs hero in this one! 3-1 to the Spurs and I'll miss it through work. COYS

Pretty sure Ghaly is still suspended for his sending off against Blackburn for violent conduct

oops, my apologies, but still, what the fuck is that?! no really, seems like a bit of a made up injury, like they sound too precise about it, i'd be more inclined to believe it if they had just said 'back trouble' or something.
Dead right, and believe me, once you get it, you feel it every day of your life, unless you have an operation, which is something you don't want.
Have had this myself a few times and it can sometimes go away very easily with a bit of massage in the lower back - hopefully henry will play then we could see him moaning in pain of the thrashing they could well receive.
Wouldn't it be awsome for arsenal to have their 1st loss at the emirates against us:shake:

he is definitely still suspended.
Dead right, and believe me, once you get it, you feel it every day of your life, unless you have an operation, which is something you don't want.Slightly off the topic of the thread, I know, but that post is just plain wrong. If you read DM's post he gives you an explanation of what sciatica is, and you'll have to take my word for it (I'm a physio) that the vast majority of people recover from it in a relatively short space of time and hardly any have to go for surgery.
There is every likelihood that Henry will be able to play, in fact if he really does have sciatica it would be good if he did play because he'd be very cautious of it and wouldn't want to extend himself too much.

Definitely lying gits, Henry will play and we'll still beat the bums.

If he doesn't play against us, that means he wont play until the Chelski game they have next week as he's suspended for the Porto game.
If he wasn't suspended for the Porto game, he wouldn't play. Bugger.
In other words, he'll be on that team sheet. If he's not, we'll be 3-0 up before he comes on.
By the way, I have an awful feeling that van Persie will become the new Pires with regards to scoring against us. I bloody hope not.

Henry has just been given the all clear to play according to SSN.
This was all kidology by Wenger to disrupt our preparation for the game. As usual the gooners will try every tactic to try to get one over us.
I have a feeling this time could be different if we play to our full potential.

Do you reckon Jol's playing tit-for-tat mind games with Wenger? They're saying Henry's a doubt we're saying King's a doubt.

Shooting buttocks eh?
I'd like Mr Henry alot better if someone shot his buttocks. Hate to be mean, but I always seem to have no morals whatsoever when it comes to Arsenal. I hope they all get sick before the match, or have severe plutonium poisoning.
And get shot in the buttocks.:shake:
Though I wonder who now performs that duty now Sol has gone to Pompey...........

From The Daily Mail:
Henry out of north London derby
Thierry Henry has been ruled out of Arsenal's north London derby against Tottenham.
Henry was known to be struggling with a neck problem, but Arsenal were hoping he might still be fit to take part against Spurs in the Barclays Premiership at the Emirates Stadium tomorrow.
More to follow.

I'd caution believing everything written in The Mail.
I won't be believing that Terry Henry ain't playing until kick-off.
Anyway, let's see Lennon and the Steed storming at their defence and put them on the back foot. Everyone that has taken points off the arse this year have taken the game to them and hassled them constantly, denying them time on the ball. If we do the same as we did against chelski we have a great chance. Sit back and try to defend and we won't.
If we get 3 points then I'll be down the boozer .....

The sciatic nerve is the length of bullshit whinging fibres that run from head to toe in Henry. Personnally I feel for him because, as with his compatriate french manager it runs VERY deep in him.
Must be such a bother.

Right on - being used to playing on their toy pitch always gave them a huge advantage at Highbury and they are struggling with that big open field this season
