Arsenal will be without captain Thierry Henry for tomorrow's north London derby with Tottenham.

Source: Guardian

The striker had been struggling with a neck injury, and missed the trip to Bolton last weekend - but further tests have discovered a problem with the sciatic nerve.

"He was fit against Fulham on Wednesday, but then had the problem on Thursday," Wenger said. "He will be suspended against Porto next week, so that gives him some time to cure."

Central defender Philippe Senderos is suspended following his sending-off in the midweek defeat to Fulham, so fellow Swiss international Johan Djourou is likely to come in.

Mathieu Flamini is out with a calf injury, but Freddie Ljungberg, Gael Clichy, Emmanuel Eboue and Cesc Fabregas are expected to return to the starting XI, while Julio Baptista should also make the squad.

Please let Gallas, Henry and Rosicky all be out. Please Ledley King, power a header past Jens Lehman that bursts the net...

It would be great to beat "The Filth" with Henry playing otherwise we'll get the "Arse-Hole" fans saying "We would have beat you if Henry was fit".

but if he doesn't play, and we win, it'll all be:

"brave, injury-ravaged, captain-less Arsenal lose to lucky Tottenham."

Bah! Bring the twat on.

Noting an above point that Arses might chant "we wooda beetcha if Thierry"... frankly, maybe they would, but who gives a shit about these sinking boats anyway. The more games they lose, the better. when they are mired mid-table with half the season gone, chanting about their beloved Henry won't do shit.

A good feeling it would be to beat a full strength arse, feelings don;t win games.

This is the achilese heel ( along with Pires, who has long departed) who always appears to be the one that gives me concerns. But with Henry out (I will believe that tomm, when we see the line up). Anyway, come on spurs, this is our chance, Beaten Chavski, Rusty spammers and this is the scalp that will make my weekend !    please God, this is one victory which will be a fantastic starrt to the festive season !

We do not need to worry, we have a great team, If we play Huddlestone, cannot see us losing, with Henry or Not, also we have a great team on the right now with chimbonda and Lennon. they could take advantage with out left side, needs inproving, but Jan we will buy for that area

are their accountants having nightmares yet? Too amusing to contemplate the impact on their squad for next year. Diminishing attendances, no CL, Wenger rendered excuseless.....they will be drawing straws for who tells the board they have to sell didums.

He will play this is just wenger tryin to play mind games with us and his own team, when henry plays he will say it is a massive boost to his team, no doubt in my mind he will start, thesedays i dont worry about hte oppositon as much its more about what we do, with our quality we can give anyone a game we just need to be focused and positive!

Jesus, why do so many people think Hudd is the answer to our prayers. He just won't win us this game! He is not at the top level yet. He is not a fighter - yet. Teemu is the man for this game to play alongside Zokora.

Yeah you had better belive it. It would be nothing but goon fans and the media harping on about us getting a fluke win over an under strength Arsenal with players just returning form injury.

Until I see quotes from Whinger, this is a bluff perpetuated by the Guardian.

He'll be in the starting line-up. If he's not, so what?

King is already acknowledged by Henry as the best defender in the Prem. So we'd be more than alright.

I'm just glad Pires isn't playing.

Henry out is of course the best news we could get. Without him, compared player by player, we actually have a better team than them. We should show no respect, go for three points but be happy if it only turns out to be one.

Thierry Henry has been ruled out of Saturday's North London derby with a neck injury.
The France forward missed Arsenal's defeat at Bolton last weekend after reporting discomfort in his neck and the problem has flared up again.

Henry played in Wednesday's loss to Fulham, but did not look at his sharpest and he will miss out against Tottenham after failing to shake off the problem.

Two successive defeats in the Premiership have dealt a huge blow to Arsenal's title hopes, but Arsene Wenger attempted to put a brave face on the loss of his captain.

"The bad news is he is not fit, but the good news is we are focused on winning the game," he said on Sky Sports News.
"I think it is a good time (to play Tottenham) as we want to bounce back from our two disappointments and win our game."

Wenger has come in for criticism in some quarters for fielding too many youngsters, but the Frenchman has backed his side to reach their goals.

"I feel I have a strong team, it is right that they are young and I believe in them," he declared. "They will get there as they are strong players and will develop very quickly.
"I know exactly what I want to achieve with them and I will get to where I want to go. "I am convinced we are on the right track and this will show through."

Who cares? If we beat them, I will ignore those cvnts trying to make excuses. Winning is the only thing that matters, and without Henry, that will be easier.

Henry or no Henry the its a tre' difficult game. There midfield still looks very strong.
I agree that this is no game for Huddlestone. I'd play Davids, Tainio and even a not match fit Jenas ahead of him for this one. It's a
Fabregas needs to be stifled and we can let our Lennon and Malbranque do the damage down the flanks.

If Galas is in the middle to cover for Senderos then they aint got a recognised left back... enter Lennon.
Even with Henry i think we have a great chance tomorrow because their confidence is low and ours is high, if we get the tactics right then theres no reason we cant do em, its about us NOT them!

COYS!!

I do not give a flying fuck what their excuses would be, nor what the papers would say, if we beat them with him injured. I really don't care. The record books would still say we won on our first ever visit to the Emirates, and frankly the 3 points are all I care about to be honest. We can only beat who's put in front of us.

And we can say: "yes, but if we'd had King for the last few weeks of last season, you wouldn't be in the CL, we would".

Cuts both ways.

I don't care if Arse*** field Tweedledee and Tweedledum as their striking partnership, if we manage to beat them no one will remember who wasn't playing. Just the result.

This is getting more and more wearying.

Arse*** are rolling in it. They are going to make hundreds of millions from the residential development of Highbury. So much that a substantial proportion of the debt that they have incurred to build Ashburton Grove will be able to be paid off. Most of the flats are already sold "off plan". Unless something goes spectacularly wrong with the building contract, they are minted.

If they were to miss out on CL for a year or two, it would hurt. But their new developments will bail them out.

Sort of. What he said was that King is the only defender in the Premiership who can get the ball off him without fouling him.

Henry or not, this is a big game! We need the points big time, and, frankly, I'd settle for a draw as the schedule favors us over the next two weeks.

And I donīt care if they canīt field their strongest team - theyīre a one man army which has been proven over and over again in recent years.

Without Henry, they donīt win - simple as that!

SSN are reporting a big bust-up between Henry and Wenger, with Henry saying he is fit to play and Wenger disagreeing.

Here's hoping the fallout ends up with Henry leaving for foreign shores.
