RUMOURS
Tottenham Hotspur Football Club are reportedly keen on Joleon Lescott.
source - fansfc
The central defender has been one of the stars of this Premiership season following his £5milllion move from Wolverhampton Wanderers to Everton during the summer.
And it is believed that Martin Jol is willing to pay double that amount to take him to White Hart Lane at the end of the campaign, to form a pairing with Michael Dawson in the heart of the back four with Ledley King taking a midfield role.
The Spurs boss is also keen as Lescott has played at left-back this season, yet Toffees boss David Moyes is expected to tell the Londoners that the player is not for sale at any price.

What a load of rubbish!!!
We will not pay double the money for a player whos not international!
Can anyone honestly see us paying double? (£10 million)
I dont even rate him at £5 million!
I would prefer Curtis Davis or someone from abroad for half the price.

Probably bullshit but not totally implausible .
We could certainly have done with Kings quality further up the pitch on Saturday . He hasn't been bringing the ball as far forward as last season .
King might be a more effective captain in midfield and with Rio and Terry exercising a stranglehold on the England centreback positions might be the only way for King to enhance his International career short of joining a CL club .
Still reckon he's carrying longterm injurys .

Hmmm - we keep getting linked to CDs and I think there is something seriously wrong with Ledders.
He picked this injury up two years ago and it has never properly healed. Somewhere behind the scenes I suspect they and Ledders know that his career will end before 30.
It is terribly sad - but we might have to come to conclusion that the King may never quite acheive what he is capable of.

Complete crap Everton paid just over 1 million for him upfront with the other 4 based on appearances and success etc. He is a crook, spent most of last season injured. 10m absolute joke.

no bloody way man!!!!
why would we spend 10m on a CB that is goin 2 be a 'squad' player
rather spend the money on some more young talent and maybe a backup left winger
just noticed that for the next month we have games during the week and then at the weekend as well and so expect alot of rotation
hopefully against charlton we play the same team but with maybe ghaly comin in for lennon 2 give him a rest as i dont want him being overused. defoe should start again and then maybe keane come in for the uefa cup game next week

We should certainly strengthen our defence. Given the choice, Distin for £2million would be the best deal. Davies would cost £10m and has only played a short time in the premiership, and this guy would be a laughably bad piece of business.

How about making a £10million bid for Tim Cahill. He is injured at the mo but would give Spurs a bit more fight in Midfield.

What a load of crap! Lescott for 10m Fansfc seem to make up total rbbish just to fill the site.
Personally i would like us to buy a good squad player so that when leds or daws is injured or suspended we dont have to shit ourselves about the prospect of davenport or gardner playing. i agree about distin would be good cover for daws but king is different class and to be honest hard to replace
