Peter Crouch is relishing the prospect of playing in front of a packed Elland Road in tonight's (Wednesday, February 3) FA Cup replay.

We travel to Yorkshire after a thrilling fourth round tie finished 2-2 at White Hart Lane on January 23. We led twice but were pegged back on both occasions with Jermain Beckford taking the match to a replay with a 91st-minute equaliser from the penalty spot.

Famed for its electric atmosphere, there will be 30,000-plus packed into Elland Road for tonight's encounter.

"I've played there a couple of times," said ‘Crouchy'. "I remember playing in the Premier League against them and it's a great place to go and play, especially for a cup-tie.

"The crowd get right behind them and with our travelling support, it will be a great atmosphere. I'm sure it will be a magnificent game."

Peter opened the scoring after we'd dominated the initial match at the Lane and admitted we should have wrapped the game up after leading twice via his goal just before half-time and Roman Pavlyuchenko's fine strike with 15 minutes remaining. It wasn't to be though as Beckford kept his cool from the spot for his second of the match.

"Yes, it was disappointing not to see the game out," he said. "They looked sharp and credit to them, they worked hard and caused us problems at times but not enough problems to draw the game. We should have killed the game off.

"We know we'll have to go to Leeds and play well. Their support was magnificent at White Hart Lane and it will be the same at Elland Road but we've strong belief that we can go there and win."

is it just me or crouch talks too much , this wasnt that bad but the one before arse game was a disgrace
wonder why defoe for example never say rubbish before the game
as for you peter you should try to learn how to control the ball first son, you can go to world cup i dont care but as for spurs you didnt do anything special yet you should keep your mouth shut really

I guess it isn't really his fault, he probably gets a microphone shoved up his nose as soon as he leaves the training ground and feels obliged to say something. Although I agree, our players do have an unfortunate habit of talking too much. Probably get the bug from Mr Motor Mouth himself, good old Harry.

Jesus Christ guys, give the man a break, what's wrong with expressing his opinion regarding the Leeds match? Why are you both so quick to jump on players or 'Arry's backs for any comment made to the press ?
I'd rather they pass comments, even if sometimes they end up with egg on their face, than have the whole of the Spurs management and squad walking around like American lawyers saying......no comment, no comment.

Work would be a very boring place if our guys didn't make comments like this, how the hell could I justify being paid for eight hours work

what's the big deal, he was just asked about playing at Leeds, the last game and what he thinks will happen tonight. His answers don't cause any issues and IF we lost tonight then nobody except the first couple of posters will care that he said we were going to win! I would be concerned if our players didn't feel like they could win every game as without the beilef you have no chance.

I think Pete was very complimentary of Leeds, he could have pointed out that they are 3rd division rubbish and should have been 6 goals down after 20 mins.

Why don't you shut up alfie, the man was asked a question and he answed it. Get over yourself, talking to the press has no impact on how you play.

Aren't the players contractually obliged to provide interviews to the club in much the same way as managers/players have to be made available to Sky after a televised game?

People this is a spurs website so any comments made by any spurs player will be pasted here.

I bet if you went on lpool, manu, hull, wolves websites prior to a game there would be interviews with players.

Its part and parcel of the whole football package.

Deal with it
