David Bentley admits he is enjoying his football again after playing a starring role in last night's FA Cup Fourth Round Replay win at Leeds.

The midfielder made a goalscoring return to the side for last week's Premier League win over Fulham - only his second league start of the season - and has impressed in each game since.

At Elland Road, he was the provider for two of Jermain Defoe's three goals in our 3-1 victory over the League One side.

With regular right-winger Aaron Lennon out injured, ‘Bents' is certainly grabbing the chance to finally establish himself in the side with both hands.

But he is not getting carried away, saying: "I got back in the team the last week and I've just been looking to perform.

"It's been a difficult time since I came here and you can't help that when the team have been doing so well without you.

"I just look forward to every game I play now and don't take it for granted. I go out there and enjoy myself.

"I just want to stay in the team and play as many games as I can. I am taking it game-by-game at the minute because you never know in football.

"My time at Spurs has been hard but hopefully I can start enjoying it now."

How slow must Leeds left back have been last night if Bentley was doing him for pace.....

Fair enough but the delivery for Defoe's second goal was top draw. No pace need then, just a quality cross, which he delivered on a plate. Good luck to him, in Lennons absence anyway

I have been a Bentley critic and i have to say hats of mate you have been very good last few games, as has Bale. I only hope our right side can hold up against the pace of villa on the weekend.

Great game by Bentley, with him in this form it gives us time to bed Lennon back in slowly. He crosses just like Beckham, I hope Gudjohnson gets some time to get on the end of them, he`s great in the air

Bentley has done as well as he could and benefited from the knowledge that he was going to get a run of games if he put some effort in. And he did - good for him.

Now comes the part that should be harder than playing against toothless-on-the-day Fulham without first choice LB and Dempsey or 3rd tier team missing two of their first choice defenders. If he does well against Villa, he will deserve even more praise.
