Tom Carroll grabbed a hat-trick as our Under-18s beat Cardiff City 5-1 in the Premier Academy League on Saturday.

Playing in a central midfield role, Carroll scored the equaliser as the lads recovered from going 1-0 down early in the first half to dominate the game.

Harry Kane converted from Dean Parrett's free-kick to make it 2-1 before the break and Carroll was there to finish Jessie Waller-Lassen's cutback for 3-1 after 55 minutes.

Paul Jose Mpoku scored a fine goal for 4-1 five minutes later, Jamie Butler then saved a penalty before Carroll wrapped up a day to remember with his hat-trick goal from the spot after Waller-Lassen was brought down.

The five-goal haul means the lads have now scored 65 goals in 17 PAL matches - the highest by far across the PAL's four divisions.

We'll have the thoughts of coach Alex Inglethorpe on Monday...

Spurs U18s: Butler; Byrne (Francis-Angol, 76), Durojaiye, Butcher, Blackwood; Waller-Lassen (McBride, 75), Carroll (Pritchard, 80), Nicholson, Mpoku; Parrett; Kane. Unused sub: Tapping.

Another goal for Harry Kane. He seems to score in every game report I read.

Tippspur Tom respresented Hertfordshire county before coming to Spurs so I reckon he was English born - does sound Irish though!

I've heard reports that he eats black pudding, so he could be Irish.

Harry Kane will be representing England in the Algarve tournament between 13-16 Feb. Nice to see him get a call up, he sure deserves it.

He's English. He went to my old school Parmiters (makes me feel old - he started the year after I left), as did Nathan Byrne.
