Spurs boss Harry Redknapp has revealed that flying winger Aaron Lennon could return in 12 days time for the visit to Wigan.

Speaking ahead of the Premier League match with Wolves tomorrow night, Redknapp said: "He could possibly be back the weekend after next but it's difficult to say. It's really up to him to see how he feels and how the fitness coaches and physios see him. We won't rush him back until we're sure he's right."

Tottenham travel to Wolves without captain Ledley King which could see Sebastien Bassong return to the centre of defence or Younes Kaboul come in for his first game since returning from Portsmouth.

Roman Pavlyuchenko returns to the Spurs squad after a groin problem but Benoit Assou Ekotto remains out, although like Lennon the left back is making progress.

The Tottenham manager backed his side to break into the top four after they slid down the league due to a 0-0 draw with Aston Villa on Saturday.

Redknapp: "We have been in great form. We have had one defeat in 12 games now. I can't complain. We have been good to watch. We have played some great football. Everyone is at the peak of their form so we have got a big chance still. There is no guarantee we are going to make it, it is going to be difficult we know that. Liverpool are back in. At the start of the year nobody would have seen them outside the top four so it is going to be hard to finish above them to start with. But we are in there with a chance, which is good."

This is why I'm not so pissed off this year. We ARE playing some of the best football in the league, but have difficulties breaking down weaker teams who turn up at the lane, utterly bereft of ideas and play with six men in their own 18 yard box. And yes, I'd class Villa as one of those weaker teams. Over 180 minutes they had what? 3 shots? 2 of those were a double-save from Gomes last week.

We don't 'win ugly' like Chelsea do. We're playing lovely football, which is fine by me - I don't like the ruthlessness they and Man U show (the little niggling tackles, the shirt pulls on breaking players, the 'not quite a yellow card' fouls), so if we continue on this trajectory, then we just have to learn how to be more ruthless in front of goal. Maybe Modric could get his shooting boots on - he doesn't score enough for my liking...

That is great news about Lennon, although with Bentley playing out of his skin at the moment, he may have to fight to get this place back in the team.

Bentley could achieve his full potential (whatever that may be) and he will only be half as good as Lennon. He's played fairly well, but if Lennon shows in training that he's ready, then I'd play him.

Its no bad thing Bentley upping his game, and the thought of Lennon coming back should mean he has even more to prove so lets hope it continues. Its got to be win win all round, with Bentley, and Lennon vying for that coveted place on the right side of midfield, throw in the possibility of Gudjohnson and Kranjcar as alternatives and healthy competition did nobody any harm.

As good as Bentley has been he doesn't make crosses from the goalline like Lennon does instead he tends to turn and cross from higher up the field.

Defenders are more uncomfortable dealing with crosses when facing their own goal which is why we're so much more effective when the small guy is playing.

Aston Villa had no problems with dealing with Bentley's crosses since they were always facing away from their goal and he never made an adjustment he just kept putting them in from the same spot.

If fit Lennon must start...period.

Getting Lennon back will be fantastic HOWEVER I don't want him bought back unless he is 110% fit. Bentley is doing really well so an extra game or two out just to make sure he won't break down is essential.

I think Lennon will be key to England in the WC us well and would love to see him tearing opposing nations to shreads!
