Our Academy squad travel to Switzerland on Tuesday aiming for a hat-trick in the prestigious Tournoi International de Monthey.

The lads won the title in 2008 and successfully defended it last year by beating Hajduk Split in the final.

This time around they face Brazilian side CA Boca Juniors, FC Zenit St Petersburg from Russia and hosts FC Monthey in Group A.

They kick-off against Boca Juniors on Wednesday before facing FC Monthey on Thursday and FC Zenit on Friday.

The top two from each group go through to Saturday's semi-finals with play-offs for seventh/eighth, fifth/sixth, third/fourth and the final all on Sunday.

Club America from Mexico, Sevilla of Spain, Dutch side Feyenoord and FC Sion of Switzerland make up Group B.

"It's a very, very highly-rated tournament and you only have to look at the teams involved to see why," said coach Alex Inglethorpe.

"In the last two years we've played Flamengo, Hajduk Split, Marseille, Eintracht Frankfurt, Sporting Lisbon, FC Sion and now we'll come up against Boca Juniors and FC Zenit.

"That shows you the invaluable experience the lads gain from these tournaments and how well we've done competing against top players from around the world.

"For our younger players, it's invaluable to their development."

Boca Juniors are surely Argentinian?

Go on the Young Yiddos though! Make yours a treble!

Our Academy has sent a team to the Tournoi International de Monthey in Switzerland which we've won two times on the trot. Our squad this time is:
1) Jordan Archer
2) Cameron Lancaster
3) Calum Butcher
4) Sam Cox
5) Olumide Durojaiye
6) Zaine Francis-Angol
7) Massimo Luongo (Australian triallist)
8) Ryan Mason
9) Paul-José M'Poku
10) Jake Nicholson
11) Kudus Oyenuga
12) Jamie Butler
13) Sheldon Stevens (Striker, from our partnership with Supersport United in South Africa)
14) Alex Pritchard
15) Adam Smith
16) Callum Tapping
17) Nathan Byrne
18) Mbuso Manyoni (Midfielder, from our partnership with Supersport United in South Africa)

Interesting to see the two South African lads are travelling - not sure if that's as part of an official Spurs trial though.

There's also a few 2nd Year lads not going (Ekim, O'Neill, Carroll and Jack) so I don't know if that's an indication they're going to be released. I would be surprised if Carroll was but the other three have hardly featured this year so that wouldn't be so much of a shocker.
