According to Italian daily Corriere dello Sport, Tottenham are interested in Brazil striker Julio Baptista , who is also wanted by German club Wolfsburg.
The 28-year-old is currently at the World Cup with Dunga's side, but has yet to be handed a chance to impress in South Africa. Baptista has just finished his second season at Roma, where he endured a tough time last term, scoring only 3 goals as Claudio Ranieri's side pushed Inter Milan for the Serie A title.
However, the powerful striker has plenty of experience, having played with Real Madrid and Arsenal and has played almost 50 times for his country.
Corriere dello Sport claims that Tottenham would have to pay in the region of 5 million euros to capture Baptista. However, Wolfsburg manager Steve McLaren is also interested in the striker known as 'the beast'.
Meanwhile, Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp will likely look to improve his squad ahead of Spurs' maiden Champions League campaign. It is still unclear which strikers will be at White Hart Lane next season with Robbie Keane and Roman Pavlucheno continually linked with a move which could help make way for the likes of Baptista.
