Spurs boss thinks midfielder may go to Old Trafford.

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp believes Manchester United may have already struck a deal for Joe Cole.

The 28-year-old will not have his Chelsea contract renewed this summer and a number of clubs have been chasing his signature.

Redknapp has confirmed that he would love to see the midfielder move to Spurs, while Arsenal and United are also thought to be trailing the England international.

But while Redknapp wants Cole at White Hart Lane, he thinks the Red Devils may have already won the race to sign him.

"I've got a feeling that it might have been done (for Cole to join United)," he said.

"It wouldn't surprise me in the least. Joe's not wanted to speak to anybody and his people have been saying 'let's get the World Cup out of the way first'.

"But we'd be interested for sure. I like Joe."

Cole has been the subject of much debate in recent days as he has yet to make an appearance for England in this summer's World Cup.

Former Three Lions captain John Terry questioned why Cole was not in the team in a press conference at the weekend, and has since apologised to manager Fabio Capello.

Hmmm not exactly a conclusive quote, there pretty much putting words in his mouth. He'll end up at united anyway.

Look at it this way:-

1) If Harry thought it really was done would he be putting in the kind of effort he usually puts in when trying to bluff his way into a deal? ;and

2) There has to be some milleage in the suggestion that he is waiting until after the WC. With England in crisis I cannot see him taking the time away from t he camp to thrash out deals with Red Nose.

Didn't he hint a couple of weeks ago that Arsenal had already pencilled a deal with Cole? I smell spin...

This seems to me to be the same rehashed quote as a few weeks ago.

If he goes Man Utd he plays for the best team and will probably walk into their team and their Midfield is sh1te. Replacement for giggs. Only thing stopping him is that it's up tut north and i heard he was a londoner that has to be close to home.

If that is the case then it's spurs or arsenal, surely he'd pick the harry factor over arsenal.... nah he's off to Man utd
