Mega bucks cast offs?

I was wondering today if we could take advantage of some of the cast offs created by the spending of the established and new mega rich?

Chelsea look like they are really going to go for it this window with strong links to Yuri Zhirkov and Kaka.

That would mean the end of the road for Malouda and possibly Ballack at Chelsea.

I know both are a little rich for our blood but Ballack is getting on a bit and Malouda's stock has fallen at Chelsea.

Failing that, Barry going to Shitty may mean that De Jong or Kompany or both are looking for another club.

Am I living in dream land or could we land a few castoffs with prem experience that will give us a leg up?

Ballack signed a new deal only last week and De jong only joned City in the last window so in those cases you do seem to be in dream land. These clubs could be worth a look though, I wonder how a player like Onuha sees his position at the moment.

No thoughts on Malouda, I would fucking love to see him in a Spurs shirt.

Malouda has done well this season, well enough to put his price tag to atleast the money they paid for him.

I still want to see where we're going with Modric. If Harry feels Modric is strong enough to play in the centre alongside Palacios, I'd lake Malouda on the left wing in a heartbeat. If not, and Modric is kept out on the left, I'm happy for Bale and O'Hara to be backup.

I'd also like to throw in Joe Cole. If Chelsea do buy Zhirkov, which is looking likely, either one of Cole or Malouda will almost certainly be sold. I'd take either, even with Cole's recent injury record.

BBC Wednesday Gossip on Teletext reported that Ricardo Carvalho is looking to leave Chelsea due to starting less than 20 games this season.
I would take him in a flash , Harry get on the phone, what does anyone else think?

Joe Cole is a genius. Would love for it to happen. But it's unlikely.

Chelsea fans love Cole, and before this season they almost hated Malouda, although that has probably changed a bit.

Malouda's stock has fallen? He was complete crap until Hiddink arrived—since then he's really started to look the business. As has been said, Ballack's signed a contract extension, and it's well known he can't possibly survive on less than £120k a week.

So, yes, you are in dreamland.

If Zhirkov does sign for Chelsea, it's more likely that Cole (Joe) could be surplus to requirements.

It could be a way to pick up some cast offs, but these players are on stupid wages or they wouldnt be at these clubs in the first place, so I doubt many are an option for us.

I would agree with that and I can't see the likes of Cole or Carvalho going to us.

Malouda got offered a new deal by Chelsea too. Don't see any of their good players that would come to us, the only small possibility is Cole cause of his relationship with Redknapp, but I think it would take a season of being fit and not starting under Ancelotti for him to agitate for a move

this is a funny time though as it's a world cup season,
Some players might not want to take the risk of
Not playing first team football this season
So some strange moves might happen
Would love joe cole though

We still have the same problem that these guys are on stupid money and so will look to another club to pay them big, Newcastle are no longer an option but City have stepped in to fill the gap.

what type of wages are the top earners on out our club?

How far short would the top end of our clubs wage structure to what the likes of Joe Cole would demand?

Cole would be a fantastic signing I think, although I cannot see it happening (neither do I think we will sign anyone from Chelsea this window)
