It would be just my luck being a season ticket holder for the first time......

If his name wasn't Sol Campbell this would make sense.

Experienced centre half who's played at the top level, available on a free, great cover when we really have serious problems at the back.

BUT, his name is Sol Campbell. I kinda feel sorry for Harry on this one, because he would definitely solve one problem at centre half, but create an even bigger one with the fans.

You forget to mention that even if we did sign him, we couldn't register or play him until January. Can people calm down, it won't happen, no need for all the hysteria.

Why can't it happen? If he is a free agent he can still join outside the transfer window?

I never ever ever report on a possible transfer as ive never had itk but ive had 3 random people ring me in the last 2 hours saying sol is coming back. harry is tkaing a gamble and signing him! his price is already going down in joining spurs. very very worried.

I've just had 5 random calls, 4 to tell me this is never gonna happen, the other was a double glazing salesman who, funnily enough said this was :bs:

Yes he could agree to join us, even train with us, but we wouldn’t be allowed to register him until January. You can only sign free transfers outside the deadline if they were available before the deadline, as he was released outside of the transfer window he can’t be registered to someone else until January. So signing him to appease our injury crisis at centre back would be utterly pointless, as he couldn’t play.

And if he rejoins and plays at the Emirates, SC could have a united fan base singing "Judas" to him, all 60,000

Funnily enough I was brushing my teeth earlier in the morning and thinking about the campbell story. I then wondered "Who would he go to now?" and then I stopped brushing for about a second and my heart skipped a beat.

Would be typical arry. BUT he knows how we feel, EVEN with this defensive crisis. I would have loved for Steven Caulker to be available. I know he is prob nowhere near ready but whats the point in playing dervite (if we do) when we know he aint good enough and apparently doesnt have the attitude.

Why does everyone think we can sign him?????

We can't as he wasn't available on a free when the deadline passed. I thought this was common knowledge?

I'm sure we could sign a player out of contract, just as Everton have done with Lucas Neill. But Campbell will never return to Spurs. Ever!

 Dougal.

If he could play I think he'd be a damn good signing, but as he can't, no point in opening that particular can of worms.

Even if he did sign and was available to play I just couldnt see Levy being able to put the spin on it. He did well to sell Defoe, Carrick, Keane and Berba and each time put a spin on it to make it seem like he had no choice and it wasn't the clubs (or his) fault.

He could spin like Tony Blair he'd still never get us to accept rSol back.

Neill was out of contract before the deadline. Campbell is a different scenario and would not be allowed to play until Jan.
