Footie on tv in China

Hi I have just moved to Taiyuan. In my apartment I can get Guangdong TV which gets one match a week. I know they have a highlights show as well, but don't know when it airs - anyone konw, or read mandarin and can take a look at their website? Also which pay channels do I need to see more spurs matches (as I guess Guangdong TV will focus on Man U/Chelsea).

Any help much appreciated!

Hey Chinaspur. Guangdong Sports normally has a couple of games on every weekend. Spurs were on last Sunday (late kick-off) but they also had Utd on last night. I've not caught a higlights program so far, but will keep my eyes peeled for it. I will get my girlfriend to take a look in Mandarin.

If you want to watch Spurs they are on WinTV tonight.

I went to both Asia Trophy games at the Worker's Stadium, we were much more committed and prepared than the Spammers and the Tigers, no surprise we won. Sadly, there were so few Spurs fans at the stadium.

Tough to get Spurs on local TV. I mostly watch Spurs on streams.

I've been learning Mandarin on and off for the last few years as i've always been interested in going to China. I was originally thinking of going up north to Harbin and then on up to the mountains to do some snowboarding although i've heard the snow isn't great up there as it gets too cold which is a worry. We were thinking of going to Japan then China and make our way down to Vietnam. Not sure it's going to happen now though as my mate isn't in the best shape money wise.

I'll come over some day though and it would be realy cool to hook up with some Yiddos

In which case subscribe to WIN TV

They show nearly every single EPL game

.

I heard from the locals that sina.com has webcast of all the EPL games. But I am using company's laptop most of the time, it does not allow me to install the software to watch the games...

Xiamen is definitely the wrong place to be a Spurs fan. Arsenal played here in 2003 (?) and there are two Arsenal stores in the city. I see people wearing Arsenal kits or jackets everywhere.

Lining up a Spurs venue in Shanghai

Any yids in Shanghai?
Would like to adopt a venue here to watch this season, not O'Malley's which is a sea of red scum, possibly somewhere smaller.

Any suggestions? COYS

Hi, Welcome to Spurs Community. I guess there are probably quite a few Spurs fans in Shanghai. My sister in law is living there so next time we travel up there from Xiamen I might be looking for somewhere to watch the game.

That's true. I've lots of friends who are Spurs fans. i'll let you know where to watch the games when you come here. ;)

Me too. 3:45am for us. Tough but worth it. The game is live on CCTV5 tonight anyway, so no need to stream it (unless the Chinese commentary does your head in).
Shanghai yiddo here... 4 in the morning and watching the England match. I tend to watch spurs on the TV when they're on (CCTV5) but would be up for a gathering next season

If spurs ain't on CCTV, then PPTV is brilliant, very smooth for streaming and often has the English commentary.
