Do we have any share holders on the forum?

I've been thinking about xmas pressies and thought about getting shares in THFC. Only a few for fun (~£150 worth) but maybe get more on my birthday/another christmas over the next few years. Only for a bit of fun really but would be nice to think if the share price goes through the roof if we win the league in the future.

Is it worth it?
Do I get any privledges as a shareholder?
Does anyone recommend a place to get the shares through?

Many thanks in advance.

I've had some shares for a few years now. You can buy them through your bank or building society. Dealing charges will be between £12 to £25.

It's actually quite expensive for the club to have lots of small shareholders (sorry if wrong assumption!) so I think they'd prefer to discourage it. I'm sure they'd prefer it if you went down to the Spurs shop to show your support!

Sorry that probably came out a bit Scrooge-like but it's true!

I have 1 share. Every October I get a cheque for 4p and every
year I que up to cash it in. Always winds up bank staff.

You get financial reports as well so you can see how much money
really goes through the club. They used toshow the directors
pay but now it seems to get clumped together under all salarys.

I've got 50 shares that were bought for me as a present when I was a kid. You don't get much execpt financial reports, but its still nice to know you own just a little bit of the club.

You can get all these financial reports off the website. Save the club money!

Humbug! :)
There was a recent communication to all shareholders which asked if they preferred hardcopy financial reports, otherwise the information would be accessed off the site. So only those that ticked the box and replied will continue to get a hard copy. Makes sense really as anyone with just one share got a copy and most likely chucked in in the bin.

I've got one share.

Doubt I would invest in any more than that to be honest, only have the share to feel a little bit more connected to the club, not to make money out of it.

I've got a couple of hundred shares in the club. They were brought for me as Christmas presents a couple of years ago.

My sister got them for me from HSBC. The first lot she got me cost about 30p a share:grin:

I've got 1000. You only need one to be able to go to the AGM and vote though. (Mind you, the votes of the people there don't make a blind bit of difference!)

Many thanks for all the replies everyone

I'll bear in mind what Nick said. It would be great to have a connection with the club like Matty and others have said. If I go for it, apart from a bank would anyone suggest a broker to buy the shares through? I saw the 1 share for £30 gift which seems a bit steep.

Thanks again everyone. Reps en-route when I can (maxed out atm)

Sorry, that's the broker we use at work to purchase individual equities.

A client a couple of years ago wanted Sheffield United shares (as a birthday present to his Mrs) and we got them via Redmaynes.

Oh right, of course. Thanks for that. When I first read it I thought it was something to do with David Bentley

Cheers
