Can somebody actually suggest how David Lammy should have acted instead of calling him the spawn of the devil? There is immense spin on this from both sides. He is acting in the interests of the local community. It is not his job to facilitate Spurs making a fortune.

I also can't believe there are people in message boards debating the name "London Hotspur" as viable??!!

Whatever anybody says "Tottenham" Hotspur was in the main born in Tottenham and for decades I suspect the majority of supporters attending games came from local people. In a poor, deprived borough how many locals can now actually afford a season ticket?

Lammy should have tried to find funding or concessions for the club, if he thought he didn't want to lose one of his biggest businesses in the area. I can remember back before this there was talk of Spurs moving because of the viability of developing the ground and the restrictions imposed on them.

They couldn't care less about the area. BJ was born with silver spoons stuck up his arse as well as rammed down his throat.

Quite possibly, but I have to say that when I lived In Edmonton, and Freezy Water in '97 and was travelling 4 hours a day to work in Surrey, I didn't appreciate the transport links, even more so on match days. For them to remain so woefully inadequate means that someone, somewhere isn't doing their job, and Lammy, who might not have been around then but is now should've been highlighting this as a serious issue. It is a proven fact that better transport links to an area boosts the revenue of the area, in some cases workers get more opportunities to find better paying work. Think of all the areas that recieved high speed links to London, and those opened up to CW by the DLR

Agree that BJ doesn't particularly care about Tottenham, it's a labour stronghold. But more importantly noone wants the olypic stadium to become a White elephant and it will be if that track is allowed to remain. A mix of athletics and football just won't work together. I'd prefer we stayed in Tottenham but I see moving to Stratford as the next stage in the Spurs story.

It's an inconvenient truth but Lammy has tried to improve transport in Tottenham.

in 2003 he was one of the prime movers in a campaign to get the Victoria Line extended to Northumberland Park.

Unfortunately, while Lammy, Haringey Council and THFC were in favour of the extension, the TfL 'business case methodology' found it would not be good value for money. It suggested London Underground invested its money in other projects or improve other modes of transport in Northumberland Park.

And, sadly, TfL's argument won the day.

Then well done for trying. But I was taught if at first you don't succeed, try & try and try again

I must say that in truth I find the fact that TFL hasn't upgraded the infrastructure pretty shocking. Its a different argument but I can't understand the privatisation of things like rail when there is only 1 operator. That's not competition in a free market but franchised monopolies

Everything you say is true and for the record I think Spurs should stay in Tottenham .

Doesn't it say it all though that Boris Johnson and various other politicians of whatever political colour are prepared to sacrifice the area of Tottenham just to give them a less embarassing exit strategy for the Olympic Stadium .

How ruthless can they be ?

It will be an illustration of just how ruthless the Tories are if we move. I'll be quite impressed, to be honest.

I would add about Lammy that he cheered when the Olympics went to East London- did he not think that North London might miss out as a result?

There is no significant difference between the big 3 parties . They all take their orders from Brussels and have a pro Federalist EU agenda . Don't believe anything would be any different if the Tories had won outright majority .

I will never vote for one of the big parties again , it's UKIP or an independent from now on .
