....or that over 93% of Spurs fans would follow the team to Stratford if the decision was made to relocate, according to this web site's poll.

That poll is even more flawed than the previous ones we've had, there is no way I would go and watch Stratford Hotspur play, Tottenham Hotspur would be dead to me after such a betrayal from the board, but there's not an option I would go for that's included in the poll.

I can tell you one thing though, I have been a Tottenham fan all my life and will be till the day I die, but if the board transforms the club into Stratford I sincerely wish the worst for the new Stratford club, better no club than the constant reminder of the once great Tottenham Hotspur.

Doesn't surprise me, younger people often make more rational decisions whereas older people tend to make ones that defy sense, possibly because they're more stuck in their ways. I can see if you've been going to the lane 20 times a year for the last 30 years you might not want to leave. Older people are more resistant to change, no matter what the potential benefits.

Well, thankyou very much for the generalisation. I'm 58 and have been a supporter since a youngster, following the team home, away and across Europe throughout the 60's and 70's - even in the 80's & early 90's, when I lived abroad, I was still a regular at WHL (and Wembley, of course).

I'm now retired and live in rural Dorset and am only able to get to the Lane around 5/6 times a year, purely down to the fact I'm unable to get a season ticket. I presently have to rely on one of my sons to source me a ticket - sometimes at only a few hours notice, which means I have to pay top whack on the train up to London.

Upgrading to the new stadium should mean that my 3 sons and I might just, for the 1st time, have a chance of getting a couple of season tickets between us.

I'd like us to stay in the borough, but by the same token I can see huge, long term benefits in moving the few miles to Stratford.

My memories are enclosed within the confines of Achibald Leach's old stadium, the stage where Jimmy Greaves, Gilly, John White and Pat Jennings performed and became legends. And I'll shed a tear when the final whistle blows at the end of our last game at the Lane, whether it's signalling a move a few yards up the road or slightly further afield.

One thing's for certain if we do move however, I won't miss the hike up the High Road from Seven Sisters.

Season tickets have only been hard to come by for the last few years, and why not become a member, then you can go to any home game and probably save a whole lot of money by getting advance train tickets.

In what way is the poll 'flawed' in your opinion, what would you suggest as a further, additional option to the ones listed?

For people who won't/can't support Stratford Hotspur and will not support another team, but also not give up on English football for starters. I suspect most people who refuse to accept the Stratford move will do neither of the two options available to them, therefore the poll is clearly flawed.

We could sure get a few storylines and performers for a few episodes of Glee from this OS debate

I don't see why these petitions would make Levy change his decision making.

The Board must be aware of 2 sets of fans, at any club when you have a decision like this.

Those who are opposed to moving no matter what the circumstances.

Those who are reluctant to move, unless it can be shown there is a considerable benefit from such a move.

No matter how many signatures you get on a internet petition, they know that the non-movers minority group will be easily replaced by those who come round to the benefits of a move, as well as brand new fans who have more of an opportunity to be regulars.

It either makes sense to move for financial and performance reasons, or it doesn't. 'Wanting to stay at WHL' isn't a good enough counter argument, unfortunately.

Good job there's a lot more arguments than that to stay then. Moving for financial reasons isn't a good enough argument, even if the OS does work out cheaper or generate more revenue it will end up going on paying larger dividends. I'm also not sure how our performances are going to be better in Stratford than they are in Tottenham, maybe there's something in the water in Stratford?

If it means we'll have more money to spend on world class players then it's a no-brainer imo. That in turn will translate into more success on the pitch and hopefully some trophies.

The way we talk , anyone would think we were west ham:shrug:

We are the talk of EUROPE.....we are linked to top players as we speak, 1 or 2 will come in....we are improving every year....the OS is no guarentee for success my friend, little old WHL and its unique atmosphere wins us games you know, and trophies are just around the corner, without selling out and moving east....

I wouldn't even mind adding to the Lane and making it a 45,000 seater stadium, rather than moving .

It seems that the younger lot are more pro Stratford than the old'uns like me which makes me very sad. Good luck with the ST, maybe you'll get mine
I don't know how old you are but I am 49 this year so don't consider myself a spring chicken. Brought up behind Jenning's goal seeing one handed saves.

I'm still open minded though...

As far as I can see the NDP is too much so the only new stadium we can get is the OS...making it the only viable option if we want to progress onwards and upwards.

I'm all for it.

Give me some reasons then as to why it works out better to stay at WHL. Historical reasons not counting.

Our performance on the pitch would naturally be hindered if we didn't have as much money available in the transfer market available, and for wages of players and managers. This seems like more of a possibility after investing £450m than £250m.

I don't want to move to a new stadium at all. I would rather we just increased WHL stadium to around 45000, I don't see the need for footballing reasons to go the whole hog and build a totally new stadium. But if thats the way its going to go, then Stratford seems far more prudent unfortunately.

The architect David Keirle has said it will cost broadly the same, £250m, to build the stadium on either site.

The additional £200m cost being bandied about is on the additional items being built as part of the NDP such as the hotel, housing, supermarket, museum, cafe, shop.

I'm assuming we will not give them away free. I actually assume we will make money as a result of having them. So, whilst there is an additional £200m cost, there will be money coming in that should exceed the £200m.

If that was truly the case, why would Levy feel Stratford is worth pursuing?

Surely it's in his interest to stay in Tottenham if it costs the same or less to do so, based on your assumptions.

Clearly there must be more to it than that.

The choice is £250m for a stadium in Stratford plus enhanced corporate revenue or £450m for the same stadium, plus a hotel, housing, supermarket, etc in Tottenham, but we will get back the additional £200m once the other stuff has been completed.

So, the main differences are enhanced corporate revenue at Stratford versus increased investment and increased risk at the NDP, with ENIC having to front up some of the investment up front until such time as they get it back.

I'm genuinely not arguing that Stratford does not present better revenue enhancing options with a lower front end investment.

My issue is that the way in which the leaks, PR spin, call it what you want is that the NDP is not financially viable.

It is and we will be better off than we are now.

Ask yourself this - if it wasn't, would Levy had submitted a second planning application with revised plans at additional cost and agreed the amounts which THFC had to pay Haringey to get it approved?
