Levy is no mug when it comes to land and property. I Believe he gained a first class honours degree at Cambridge in land economy, so he obviously knows his stuff.

I think we should have more faith in Levy and be comfortable with him making the best decision for the long term health of this club.

His boss I think holds the world record for losses made in one day. I think he lost a billion in the blink of an eye. Enic are (among other things) property investors. And their track record is diabolical recently.

Tell me who has done well out of property lately. I doubt whether Joe Lewis is the only loser.

Yeah but losing enough money to fund both ours and the Olympic stadium is pretty spectacular eh?

I have to offer Lev some cudos. I thought he was using Spurs stadium as an Enic bounce back vehicle. Using our name to borrow as much as they can, for an long as they can, and using companies with interests in Enic to keep the 500 million needed in the family so to speak.

But him going with the Olympic stadium option proves he really does have the clubs best interests in mind.

So I am delighted about this letter, so I can take off my foil helmet.

If the move to the Olympic Stadium was simply about saving money, then as Levy suggests, the easiest way to ensure that we would be the preferred bidder would have been to agree to retain the running track, not to come along with what was always going to be a controversial plan to demolish the lot.

Very ambitious bid indeed!

However, I'll be very surprised if this will ever happen. All the best for Levy & Co! I won't like it, but I will follow my beloved club to Stratford if that is the best option to get a new and big enough stadium.

it certainly would loose value if it was suddenly no longer adjacent to a premier league football club that brings 36,000 people through it once or twice a fortnight.

He said it can take years conclude, not it will. For all we know the owners are awaiting the outcome of the bid next week, as they know they will get top price for there land, or await CPO.

The club has been buying up the land between Paxton Road and Northumberland Park more or less since ENIC took over (I think Paul 'Oh no! Where's all my money gone?' Kemsley's Rock Ventures did a lot of the initial purchasing,), so you'd think they would have identified the potentially serious hold-ups a long while ago. There's long been a rumour, possibly true, that one of the freeholders is a diehard Gooner who is holding out for crazy money; I guess it could be the bloke who owns Archway. Whatever, it seems very strange to me that after ten years the Dear Leader is telling us that it could take a few years more to buy out a couple of awkward customers via CPOs.

Although the most tabloid scenario, I fear this might be the case. If it was me and I was in the position to do so, I think I would hold out for the absolute maximum I could get from any football club. Add the spite value of a diehard gooner and I can easily see it happening. Who can blame them really?

I'm not sure of the ins and outs of compulsory purchase orders, but how would, or could that be used in a case such as this? Surely our plans to invest in the surrounding area would outweigh any argument they may have deeming the purchase unnecessary and work in our favour of acquiring an order, especially this far down the road. That would have to be the best way to go about it, even if it is a pretty heavy handed approach. Cheaper too.

That was Lewis' own personal investment, his own 'flutter' if you like. He'd never be so reckless with ENIC/Tavistock monies.

Why are you so opposed to potentially moving to Stratford?

I didn't think the day would come when i would have to explain to a fellow spurs fan why i would want Tottenham to stay in Tottenham and not become an east london club.

I think Levy has overal been good for tottenham, but i worry big time that we are nearing the end of Enics time here, and you pro strat can't see beyond the bigger picture i fear may arise...

I am fearing that all this shit that we must go to stratford so as to compete at the highest level, is not the reason Levy is taking us there.

I hope i am wrong, and Levy and Enic are doing all this in pursuit of trophies..and not in pursuit of a buyer, no doubt our stock will rise if we were to be sold in a state of the art the 60,000 stadium.

That is however not the main reason i don't want to move.
I don't feel that it will ever be the same club, how can it be, if were to move to stratford, so why would i want to feel like that about spurs, its obsurd to think you can just move us around london to a totally new area, without losing your whole identity.

I have supported spurs even through relegation, i am not here just for the trophies, spurs and the lane mean much more to me than money and cups.

I do want success, but this for me is a step too far...

and to think we were moaning about a red logo on our shirts a few years ago.

ELY my worries are different to yours. Rather a threat arising by ENIC taking us to Hackney/Stratford I see more of a problem for our owners if we are forced to stay at a 36,000 WHL. It will then that ENIC will be looking to exit. Unfortunately with the relative success of recent seasons we Spurs supporters have been tempted by the possibilities of going to the next level. I too followed the side throughout our second division season (great season btw) but also was there for the numerous very ordinary seasons we had after our two LC wins.....a shadow of former glories. This will get uglier yet.

I wish I wasnt cynical sometimes. But he has lost it. Well, not lost it, I think he does not give a shit any more.

He's really old, throws money around like confetti and he's in auto pilot.

I mean he spent a million to play a round with Tiger Woods. He's going to enjoy his life at the expense of investors. And I don't blame him.

Look, if he was down to his last million, I think he would focus and make a killing. But he is in comfort mode at the moment. In financial terms he's doing a Bentley.

I wish I could make such detailed and sweeping judgements based on such little actual knowledge!

You are an amazingly insightful person..........................

Greedy, rich people NEVER, EVER stop giving a shit about the most important thing in their lives, their money!

That is how they stay rich. The rich are the tightest, most unrelentingly greedy people you can imagine, they care about their money! A LOT

Yes, but what Lewis does with his personal wealth and what Tavistock/ENIC do are completely separate.

Lewis gave Levy the reigns of ENIC.

This is something I also have a problem with. We've heard for years what a big deal the redevelopment is going and now all of a sudden there's an about turn?

It stinks.
