Friedel 6.5 Should have claimed the ball for the goal

Walker 6.5 - Penetrating runs, nothing to aim for or outcrowded in the box by wolves

Dawson 6 - Tussled well with Fletcher, it was a tie.

Kaboul 7 - Good defenisvely, should leave the attacking to BAE

Ekotto 6.5 - Solid

Lennon 7 - The only player to get behind Wolves constantly, don't know why he was taken off

Bale 6.5 - Not bad but not great. Average game and had nothing to aim for in the box

Parker 5 - Ventured forward destroying our shape forcing modric to hold. Misplaced passes under no pressure, wrong decision making when attacking and I cannot remember one single tackle he made today. The only thing he did well was clatter Frimpong. Over than that for the person supposed to add steel to our midfield he shirked his defensive responisibility

Modric 7 - Good strike, kept things ticking well, but parker's lack of disicipline restricted modric getting forward and influencing things more

VDV 7 - Crowded out by wolves, hacked and pushed at every occasion but retained the ball well. Wolves shut down all the avenues at times today so not many attacking options to aim for.

Adebayor 6 - up for the physical tussle but wolves seemed to have an extra man on the pitch he was so outcrowded

Defoe n/a.

Rose n/a

Redknapp - Bad selection in choosing a clearly unfit parker. Should have kept livermore in. Also the team looks very unfit at times, with people struggling to get back into position or to press.

I'll go for this. Can't really blame Redknapp, though, maybe for the Parker selection ahead of Jake but if he's fit he should play so must've been a close call. Wolves also made it a lot tougher than Everton did so we don't know how he would've handled it..

Bale was so out of position and Parker so out of the game in the end I was hoping he'd just go with Modric and Bale centrally and put Kranjcar in on the left..

Friedel............5. Error for goal and made his one routine save look difficult.
Walker............ 6 Strong runs but little end product. Gets back well. OK.
Dawson...........6. Ok with little to do.Long ball creeping in again.Error for goal?
Kaboul............ 6 Too many aimless runs with the ball. Lay it off to Benny or Modric
Ekotto.............6 Decent game. Think Kaboul got in his way down the left.
Lennon............7 Should have stayed on.Lively
Parker............. 5 Poor lately. Limitations beginning to emerge.Prefer Livermore.Beginning to wonder whether I wasn't right about O'Hara after all:razz:
Modric.............8 Consistently good. Always available. Got into shooting positions.
Bale................6 Some bad and selfish decision making. Should stick to the left
VanDVaart........7 Class is constant but crowded out in packed defence.
Adebayor..........6 Goal disallowed and some clever play but often pointless flicks.
.........................Needs to get on the scoresheet soonest.

let's go and sign Samba for fuck sake. we have no obvious targets at set pieces, imagine we could bring on or push forward CS as an auxiliary striker in these situations where teams are sitting back and basically just defending. they even had the nerve to bring off jarvis for elokobi (spl?), cheeky fuckers!

At other teams, Kaboul, Dawson and Adebayor would be more than adequate targets in the box. Kaboul's scoring rate at Pompey was actually better than Samba's is at Blackburn. The delivery just isn't good enough and for whatever reason, these players now barely bother attacking the ball. Unless we're doing the Bale near post thing, we rarely look like threatening.

Adebayor is great and contributes loads to our team play, but is it just me that wishes sometimes he'd just fricking shoot?

:hump:

And, like, maybe throw himself at some headers...on the rare occasions when our crosses, corners and free-kicks are worth thrownig his heed at

We have scored the least number of headed goals in PL:shrug:

I'm not sure exactly how many headers Ade (seen as I was talking specifically about him) has scored, but I can absolutely categorically, say that I have seen him on quite a few occasions not throw his head at the ball when it was been put into the area...which is all I said. Hyperbole, beget by frustration

Considering he's missed the last few games through injury can you give any other examples of when he has been 'poor lately'.

Strangely he does get his head on the ball away from the penalty area .Saw that a few times yesterday...and there was some accuracy involved too .

You'd think I'd be shocked about some of these ratings, but sadly I'm not.

Sigh.

But that's the thnig, he does, and, if I remember correctly he got a few with his head for the Goons - it was an aspect of his game I was really looking forward to.

Yep. Yesterday and the two games prior to his absence.
Not a great admirer of Scotty, he has serious limitations in my view: he lacks pace; takes too many touches, or gives it back instantly to a player to no good effect; has difficulty turning on the ball unless he goes round in a circle ;slow to see a pass; slow to shoot; bad haircut; but he did a good disciplined job for the first dozen games or so.
Vastly overated by many on here.
He didn't play badly when he wasn't playing obviously.

At the start of the season he was disciplined played it simple and passed it to more creative players. Nowadays he thinks he's a big fish in a small pond again and tried to do all the attacking himself leaving Modric to hold in CM. Obviously this leaves our biggest creative outlet too far deep. When livermore played we had a much better balance as he held and modric was allowed license to get forward. If Parker could do a job attacking I wouldn't mind, but he is useless in the final third. Redknapp needs to spot this and have a word with him, or modric should take the initiative himself.

For whatever reason, Modric spent far too long in the centre of the field in the first half while we were up there end.

Phenomenal performance in the second half - clearly something was said at half-time.

Yeah, only the real pro's rate O'Hara eh?

Poor against Norwich and Chelsea? Do me a favour.

But then you do rate Pav as well don't you Jimmy....
