I don't think we'd see any of the £400million for players, etc - it's for the stadium
But that would virtually pay for the stadium immediately. That would mean all of the extra income from the new site could go into paying wages etc. We wouldn't be in the same position as the Scum have been for the last few years where the new development impedes investment into the playing side.

Exactly. That is a very, very good amount to bring in and will cover the entire stadium i'm sure(don't know exact figures?) Either way it will leave a lot of space for us to generate revenue from match day/other events and sponsorships.

from today's Telegraph, rumours a month back that it is with Qatari Airlines

Hope not.

Always been a source of pride that we are not funded by companies effectively run by dictatorial regimes that opress women and minorities and practice torture. I can't promise that I'll stop going if it is but it'll leave a slightly bitter taste

A £400m deal would, indeed, sort the stadium though. Even if £400m is not the precise figure we'd easily be able to raise any extra through profits or gate receipts.

Still think we should have made the capacity 61k to commemorate the double and annoy the scum

I'm very excited about this!

If that last little bit is true though then BoJo wants to shut his face. Does he expect us to just pull the money out of our arses? Maybe he could have a word with his mates in government and get RBS or Lloyds to lend us the money at decent rates?

Amazing news, with the incentives we've got from the government plus the new plans for the stadium surely all the numbers stack up now and we can press on - very exciting!!!

If we get £400m the gooners will be gutted. The thing they cling on to is that we will spend years being poor due to paying for a new ground.

This is more exciting news than any signing we could have made, as getting the stadium built must be our absolute priority in order to allow us to continually challenge at the top of the league.

I wouldn't get hung up on that. Money is money and has no emotion. If we take 400 mil from a regime for sponsorship it is a good deal for us and thats the end of it really. The fight for equal rights, human rights, etc is more political and moral fight than a financial one.

take they're money, enjoy it.

:) Just to be talking those kind of figures is good news though.

Hot on the heels of the Boris/Haringey announcement it just proves the old saying that 'a rolling stadium project gathers no moss'

Have you every bought anything made by Addidas, or Hugo Boss, or Bayern Medical (world's biggest pharmaceutical company)? - if the answer to any of these is YES then you have supported companies that directly supported or worked for the Nazi's in and after WWII.

How about that nice shiny mobile phone you own - how many oppressed Chinese workers (basically slaves) were involved in producing that for you?

Or those diamonds you buy your special other, even the non blood diamonds are basically all controlled by De Beer's, set-up by Cecil Rhodes, of Rhodesia fame - now Zimbabwe - you may have heard that they're not a fan of white people there - there's a really good reason for this.

Point is that there are hundreds of everyday company's that have very murky backgrounds, so for me this is just another one.

If this is true I would like to see a better stadium development personally as the current development is just not worth £400 million

What makes you think that?

On a job such as a stadium the majority of the budjet (about 45-50% i think - dont remeber the exact figure) is spent on the fit out.

We will be going gung ho into the corporate market meaning lots of money spent on the VIP areas. Its why Wembley was so expensive (best VIP facilities in Europe).

The increased revenue will come from these VIP areas, only a small pecentage from the increased capacity.

Aestheticly the stadium proposed is pretty much as good as any other club stadium in the world (In the uk most stadiums are clad like industrial sheds and in europe they dont even have any cladding.

In a nutshell considering were a club only recently emerging from 'the dark ages' were building a stadium as good as any other in the world.

Are you sure you're not confusing Qatar with Bahrein, Qatar is an absolute Monarchy with pretty drachonian rules on migrant employees but I don;t know that it's among the worst in the Arab world and they were the first to give Women the vote.

Still £400million means we build the stadium with no debt, or at least with the debt covered by this sponsorship leaving all other income for the team.
Dream time!!! wow!
