Parker- 6- Extremely brave put his body on the line, but not on the same level as other players when it came to actually playing football. Time and time again he put team mates under pressure. Some good blocks, but some awful clearances and decision making when he had time on the ball in our box to clear it or find a man

Allright a few people acting like they are liverpool fans on here, cannot take criticism of a player. Its my opinion and I'm entitled to it. I have neither been aggressive, abusive nor resorted to childish behaviour. Instead I get abuse because apparently I'm not allowed to criticise Scott Parker.

Friedel 7 - assured

Walker 7 - needed his pace today, improving defensively
Dawson 6 - defended v. well but distribution v.bad at times. Passing to the ghost of Crouch it seemed
King 8 - nuff said
Ekotto 6 - not great defensively at times and again poor passing

Kranjcar 7 - ok, stifled
Livermore 7 - good game
Parker 9 - Captain Scarlet
Modric 7 - good shift

Bale 4 - got out wrong side of bed this morning
Adebayor 2 - football mercenary. upgrade on Crouch but please Levy don't break the bank to keep him. 'cool' when we need clinical.

Saha 7 - won some good headers, zero decent service though.
Rose n/a

It's not that. It's because - even despite you trying to construct reasoned arguments to support your Parker ratings - you're clearly watching a game that no other football fan on the planet is when you decide your ratings.

Friedel-8 solid.
Walker-6 Ok defensively. Didn't do much going forward.
King-7.5 Good game
Dawson-7 Some of the hoofing does my head in. Great tackle in the first half.
Assou-Ekotto-6 Just too casual at times
Kranjcar-7.5 Well done Niko, worked tremendously hard defensively and should've had an assist.
Parker-9 Ironman.
Livermore-6 Tries hard, but very unspectacular.
Modric-7 Did well, but wish he could influence the game even more than he actually does.
Bale-5 Bad game, terrible miss.
Adebayor-6 Completely isolated up there. Not his fault.
Saha- 6 Did nothing the short time he was on

Your point about his passing has soem truth to it IMO, but to award him a 6/10 considering the defensive effort he put in tonight is just plain wrong.

Fair do's that's a reasonable answer. You could have said it before instead of suggesting the ban-stick. In your opinion is Parker beyond criticism though?

If Jenas had that performance for us we would be caning him. He used the ball terrible once it got all congested in the middle. Even livermore, whom Spurs fans should give more credit too, was a lot better with the ball and in closing down the opposition.

Walker......7 Defended well against Bellamy who can be a real handful
Dawson.....8 Very composed

BAE..........7 Some dodgy moments.
Kranjcar....7 Better all round performance
Parker.......7 Good second half but wild in the first
Livermore ..7 Solid and not out of place in this team.

I'll take that. People will whinge it wasn't the 'Spurs way' and that Bale didn't swan through them time after time but we went there with a depleted squad with no one to really change things from the bench and got a hard earned point. Liverpool are a good side, we are better but not every game do we reserve the right to steamroller teams, today we battled well and I see that as a good point.

First half was fairly even, Liverpool had slightly more initiative but both teams were passing it well in the middle without doing much going forward. We lacked VDV knitting things together higher up the field and Ade looked exceptionally isolated, Modric was playing well although he really dropped off after half time.

I didn't quite envisage the second half going like that, we had to dig deep and Parker was playing like a trojan out there. Dawson and King were excellent. On twitter Franny Lee the ex Man City player tweeted that Parker was playing poorly again, yet more proof that playing the game at a high level does not mean you are a qualified football expert. Also, how the fuck was Skrtel not sent off for that reckless lunge on Bale? He wasn't in control and certainly endangered his opponent as you could see with the marks on Bale's shin. Suarez is also a nasty little shit for kicking Parker.

It wasn't pretty, but not every game are we going to be playing beautiful flowing football. Point well won, in far from ideal circumstances.

Friedel 8.5 Excellent, reliable shot stopping and also his best performance dealing with crosses.
BAE 5 Had too many lazy moments for my liking, and gave the ball away stupidly a few times.
Walker 8 Best game for us defensively I thought and was put under lots of pressure. Let nothing in behind him at all.
Dawson 8.5 Excellent game.
King 8.5 Excellent game
Parker 8.5 He was everywhere second half, got kicked by that horrible little bastard in the midriff and took several knocks, but he kept on going. He looked shagged at the end.
Livermore 7.5 Calm presence, worked hard and used the ball very well.
Modric 7 Was excellent first half where he'd passed an excellent 36/36 but he really dropped off second half which I think contributed to us giving them the initiative.
Bale 5 Hardly involved in the game, think the hype sometimes gets to him and thinks every time he gets the ball he needs to do something special. If nothing's on it's no shame to just pass the ball on and keep possession recycling. Poor finish when he went through, you get the impression that teams who win titles score those more often than not.
Kranjcar 7 Good in possession, worked hard and was utterly shagged when he came off. Beautiful ball for Bale. He really should be utilised more.
Ade 5 He was horrendously isolated but he didn't make it easy for himself. Must do better, tempted to start Saha on saturday.

Just listened to Dalglish's interview, I really dislike that man. Enjoy the Europa League.

Are you purposely forgetting the umpteen crucial challenges and blocks that Parker put in tonight? He hit a few bad passes first half, but the positive far, far, faaaaaaaaaar outweighed any negative.

Unless you are being a WUM I cant see how you have reached this conclusion of his performance based on what you watched tonight. Its so wrong.

Parker did have a few off moments, not least conceding a silly foul for his yellow early on and a couple of dodgy passes here and there, but the good far, far outweighed the bad. S'why I gave him an 8.5, it wasn't a perfect game but without the guy we'd have been fucked. He also has to cover Bale's shift most weeks.

Say what you like about Saha's legs having gone but he won more headers in 15 mins than Adbayor has won in the last 3 games.

I like Adebayor, but he was truly dreadful tonight. Gave the ball away endlessly, didn't hold it up, didn't really challenge for headers. I'm not convinced he's properly fit.

Bale had one of them games. He was due one.

Back five were strong, 8s all round. Livermore and PArker were excellent - 8s also. Niko/Modders were steady but not particularly incisive - 7. Bale - 4, Adebayor - 1

Saha - 6. Would like to see him given a start.

I don't usually do ratings but i'm bored so here you have it:

Friedel 8
Walker 7
Dawson 8
King 8
Assou-Ekotto 7
Livermore 7
Modric 6
Parker 9
The face of PG Tips 6 (for some reason he irritated me tonight)
Kranjcar 6
Adebayor 6

Saha 6

I think the management could have shown a bit more faith and tried to win the game rather than what appeared to be an attitude of we're short so we'll set up so as not to lose. Nevertheless, we'd have all taken the point and that's what we got.

Agreed. How someone can rate Parker below the others is absurd, really. Maybe he was watch9ng a replay of another match?

Friedel 7 Brave
BAE 6 Indecisive, dwelling on ball too much
Dawson 7 In a battle....held his own
King 7.5 Calm...played well
Walker 7 Decent game..nutmegged once
Krankjar 6.5 Never gave ball away but very one paced....like me
Parker 8 All heart...got in many essential blocks
Modric 6 Forced to play deep...rarely gave ball away
Bale 6.5 Could have been match winner...needed to play more down the left
Ade 5.5 Ordinary display tonight...needed to do more. Fit?
Livermore 6 Workmanlike
Saha 5.5 Little impact
Coaches 5.5 Looked like 3 wise monkeys...set us up 20 yards too deep...never considered going for the win against a Liverpool side that looked poor, lacked guile or class. Take a point....it was Anfield:)
