I've onlu watched some extended highlights of the game(about nine minutes), but it is shocking to see how poor Arsenal were defending. The amount of time and space they gave to players like Ibra and Robinho is just crazy. If they do that against us we'll score 4 as well - at least!

My favourite is this on scum mania:

"Ibra has given the whole Arsenal defence and midfield a bukake, ******* bunch of wankers."

Was hoping that Arsenal got through to be honest, the more games they have to play the better chance they won't qualify this year.

 We have kneejerk reactions on here, but I dont think I have seen anyone do this.

It does show how bad some of their fans are. A bit of mediocrity after recent more successful times and they dont wanna know anymore. Glory-hunters, I hope they dont jump on our bandwagon!

Bring the glory hunters on, I say! My only reservation is that people might start to look down on me when I say I support Spurs, perhaps believing I'm some glory hunter. On the plus side, the glory hunters will come, spend their money on us and give us a nice boost. That will just boost us as a club, either allowing us to win the league or cementing our place in the top 4. Hopefully we spend the money wisely and invest it in things off the pitch (ie the stadium) which will come in handy when things go tits-up and the glory hunters desert us 20 years down the road

you know they will fight like a pack of wolves against us though... we will still need to be at our best as they will be out for pride... and blood.

At home against spurs is a game Wenger simply cannot afford to lose.

So no matter how poor they were last night, we will likely need to take this game very seriously as always and I sincerely doubt it will be as easy as their reent performances indicate. Derby matches rarely are...

There is that likelihood.

But they also have to go away to Sunderland in the FA Cup, before that - and the mackems will be right up for that, a bit of revengee, with no Henry to rescue the Goons, and no Sunderland knackered form playing a couple of days later.

They could be pretty demoralised, by then - giving it the playing for the win and not being afraid of us but secretly really bricking it, and after a few attacks, fold like last night.

And have you seen their run of fixtures after they play us? Could be cast adrift a month from now - they must be nervous as hell

If they lose the NLD at the Al-Qaeda, they'll be calling for his head on a platter. Either way, I can't see Wenger staying after the summer anyway.

I was hoping his comments would backfire. We actually played well in Milan last year - it was in the return leg that they played us off the park. 4-0 to Milan last night. Love it.

The 'dig' from Wenger just reinforces that he doesn't fully appreciate that there are a number of ways to win a football match. He seems to believe that possession = dominance. It doesn't. Yet so many gooners and their players also subscribe to this theory despite it failing to yield success for 6 years now.

When they came to WHL earlier in the season, they had more of the ball, but Sceznzy was by far the busier goalkeeper. We didn't have the better midfield that day, but were the better team over 90 minutes. However Wenger and the vast majority of Arsenal fans somehow cannot see this.

His dig at how we won at the San Siro last season coupled with the manner in which they were taken apart last night shows his 'philosophy' to be fatally flawed and last night's battering may have woken up some more of the fans to that fact.

Frankly this rewriting of history has been done so sompletely, that assnal fans don't even question it anymore. What success has assnal had with this tippy-tappy crap? Zero. They won things by having pace and power in abundance. Two great wingers and a ridiculously quick and talented talisman in Terry Henry.

I understand they lost players and decided to go a different route but this keep ball shite that they changed to has utterly failed to bring them tangible success. They've been sliping back every yr. Incrementally at first and it seems to have really caught up with them this yr.

Calling them even Barca-lite is a gross exaggeration of their talents.

"“I have seen [that game], yes,” he said. “Milan had a lot of the ball and Tottenham caught them on the break at the end of the game.

“You never decide when you break, you break when you can. It was a game which was vastly dominated, especially in the second half, by Milan.

“We will not decide at the start of the game that we will sit in our half if we have to, like Tottenham did. We will do it and then try to catch them on the break.

“But at the start we will try to get out of our own half and try to get up there and play. Spurs won the game when they were dominated, but that is football today.”

Now looking at that, in all fairness don't you think Arsene had a point?

What you lot don't seem to understand is that football is not so much about scoring goals, making tackles, having lots of shots on target, stopping the other team having lots of shots, shots on target and preventing them from scoring goals.

Oh no - you facking mugs!!! - it's really about having lots of possession in your own half!!!!!!

Arsenal thrashed them on that count, and frankly we should all be man enough to admit it!

Fuck, I've been so stupid. I've been wanting us to sign that 20 goals a season striker for so long. I was blinded by my own desires, I lost track of the truth and what is right. Thanks for the heads up, sloth.

And thank you Arsene, or as you shall now be known in my household - Jesus Redux.

It's true.
I eagerly watched the in play possession stats last night, finding actually watching the football to be a superfluous activity. The stats were showing, minute-by-minute, that the Goons were clearly dominating the game.
Imagine my surprise, dear readers, when I looked up from the stat box at the end of the game and noticed that Milan had somehow scored 4 goals, with no reply Eek I didn't have the sound on, you see

Perhaps Young Boys are looking for a new manager...

I can see him going to Real Madrid if Jose leaves at the end of the season.

I have been discussing this with anyone who will listen recently. The team we see today is the one Arsene has shaped. No inherited players, this is a team entirely of his making. What we ought to be seeing is the very pinnacle of Wenger's football philosophy, his idea of perfection, and instead what we are seeing is a fragile unit, awful in defence, dull to watch, lacking in any depth or goalscorers apart from Van Rapist, and capable only of playing keep-ball. Frankly dire.

If there was ever an example that stats don't get close to telling the whole story, sometimes, it was last night.

Arsenal had 57% possession and Wenger rightly described it as their worst night in Europe by a distance, that stat for an away team is impressive on its own - particularly when you consider the venue and the opponent.

Obviously possession is a key stat when analysing a game but what you do with the actual ball is equally critical...and likewise off it.

Arsenal have relied on the brillant RVP over and over again this season and if he had suffered his normal rate of injuries this season I don't even think they would be in the top 10.

Their defending was the poorest I've seen in a long time last night. If you think about it, 57% away from home in a place like Milan is fantastic from the point of view of keeping an experienced home side like Milan a good bit off the ball. They say keeping the ball is the best form of defence but holly shit Milan ripped them apart with less ball and made them look like novices. That 57% on its own should of been enough to prevent Milan from truly dominating the game, easily, but that's exactly what they did.

Wenger's philosophy for this current squad just doesn't bring the right balance to yield success, its beginning to get brutally exposed as well now.
