SUBS:
Sorry but Kaboul can't be no more than a 6. He essentially cost us the game.
You missed out Saha , BC , looked excellent...in striking contrast to Adebayor
who needs time on the bench imo
Saha 8
Dimwitted ESPN Bint: "Some up that game Harry"
Redknapp: "Don't know how we lost it"
I've got some ideas, in fact, for once, I think the majority will even agree on some of them.
Dropping our most creative and productive player to accommodate a formation and formula that almost certainly cost us CL football last year wasn't very clever. Keeping Bale on the right where he was clearly making no tangible contribution for 95% of the game was just plain fucking stupid.
I have absolutely no idea what the third substitution was about.
The 442, with Bale right and Modric left just made us predictable and easy to play and stop. Even in the second half when they dropped deep and allowed us shit loads of ball, we were so predictable. Having more strikers doesn't automatically make for more chances. Why does Redknapp constantly forget lessons he learns over and over. Playing two players in wide positions that constantly come inside gave us no variation, no width to stretch the game and as a result Everton had an easy time preventing us from creating.
And what the fuck is it with our set pieces. They are fucking atrocious. I cannot think of a worse team in the EPL than us with set pieces. It just looks like a complete lack of preparation and planning, resulting in terrible execution.
The general effort in the second half was good, and we had plenty of ball, but Redknapp just did not react tactically to what was happening in front of his eyes. It was so glaringly obvious it was unbelievable. Redknapp's fond of saying it's a simple game, but how much more simple can it be than putting our only player who can power past opponents in the right part of the pitch where he can do it, for at least a good chunk of the game.
I think it was a good decision to play Parker and Sandro, I think that worked, it was what he did around that pair that didn't. Two strikers, no VDV, Bale right just left us devoid of threat and intelligence.
It wasn't a terrible effort from the players, especially second half, but they were severely hamstrung by some poor tactics.
BC you really have no idea what the third sub was about?
Livermore is quick to spot a pass, Parker is not.
Livermore is far more incisive/bold with his passing than Parker.
It was at a stage where they were practically camped, and ok it made little/no difference but come on it's clear to see why it was made.
B07 Saha is like Defoe and erm... Saha...? I wish i was like myself without my bad points
