Massimo Luongo@MassLuongo
90 mins under my belt!

Looks like he played for Ipswuch u 21 team v QPR today - see my post from yesterday. Guess we may need to see Ipswich next Champioship match day squad to see if Luongo stays, plus there are rumours that Paul Jewell may quit as Ipswich manager which will confuse the situation further. Shame as I thought Ipswich would be a good loan club for Luongo

Not been following Ipswich season closely but I get the impression Luongo was sacrificed when results starting going against them and they decided to stop trying to play football.

Paul Jewell sacked as Ipswich manager.

Jewell's assistant Chris Hutchings has been placed in caretaker charge and will prepare the side for Saturday's visit of Sheffield Wednesday.

Early front runner for the job is Alan Curbishley.

spurs twitter said he can play for the u21s if he isn't in ipswich's squad for the weekend, there's nothing about him returning permanently though.

that doesnt mean anything as loanees that go to the lower divisions normally train with us on monday and tuesday and this has happened with many loanees before but normally the matches are behind closed doors

True. I remember Caulker be on loan at Bristol and trainign with us, but didnt think he played any matches, but obviously could be wrong. Was just surprised that he was in the line up. Probably better he stays with us considering Ipswich's position

Ipswich have a reputation for hiring their new managers quickly under their Chairman, Evans.

If the new manager is appointed quickly and plays Luongo on a regular basis in the Championsip, then its better for Luongo to stay at Ipswich, if Luongo continues to be outside their matchday squad, Luongo is probably better off getting another Championship loan rather than playing u21 football for Spurs.....and AVB has not shown much appeatite for giving the youngsters that much game time (Carroll, Mason, Smith - and even Falque/Townsend have had limited opportunities).

In the short term Luongo will play for Spurs u 21's but think another loan spell with a Championship club (or better a lower Premier league side - Luongo would cope, but not sure he has the experience to have managers taking him on at a Prem club) would be best solution to give him more experience. He has not been at Spurs long enough to count as an u 21 for Europa league so little chance of games for Spurs first team (except maybe 3rd round of FA cup).

Been operating out of position as a CB for the U21 team as we are overloaded in midfield and short at the back. Should be playing midfield though, really.
