Wycombe have had a shocking season so far, but Archer played this weekend when they finally won again. Hope he continues and impresses.

We can announce that Jordan Archer has had his loan at Wycombe Wanderers extended by two months.

Formal confirmation of what we already knew !

Latest update on the site indicates that he is performing really well. Once we sort out the surplus of keepers currently at the club it would be quite nice to have some of the homegrown lads as third and fourth choice. Thought Button would fill that role, maybe Archer, Miles or one of the others can get a chance.

Agrred, think Archer is a good prospect but Wycombe is League 2 - so may take 2+ years to get to challenging for 3rd/4th choice at Spurs, and by that we may have sortted out current goalkeeping team, so he may miss that boat unfortunately

Now made 9 appearances for Wycombe and appears to have started all the games since he has been there - Wycombe have won their last 2 games and are just under mid table so he appears to be settling in nicely.

Think this lad has a chance to make it to number 2 long term, he has good hands for a keeper and is a good shot stopper, Gomes will be sold, Friedel will retire or go back to the US in the next year or two that means we will have Cudicini as our number 2 and if Archer can keep developing he has a chance to be better than Cudicin.

Could have said the same about Button.

While I'd love us to have a home grown keeper as number 2, or even number 3, the current thinking seems to be you need a top no.1, a very able backup, and an experienced third choice keeper (this isnt just us, seems to be every Prem team)

With Archer, Miles and Vigouroux all getting good reviews as they come up the system, it would be nice if they were involved with the first team a little instead of having at least two keepers earning a lot of money and doing nothing.

ARCHER'S LOAN AT WYCOMBE EXTENDED

Posted 13 December 2012 2:00pm

Jordan Archer has had his loan at Wycombe Wanderers extended until the end of April.

The Scotland Under-21 goalkeeper originally joined the League Two club in September and has made a total of 12 appearances in all competitions so far.

He kept three-successive clean sheets before Saturday's 2-2 draw against Morecambe

Played again yesterday and Wycombe won 2-0 at Accrington, another good clean sheet. Got booked for time wasting too.

Lloris being so young means Archer won't be near the 1st team for years. We may end up selling him.

You never know what might happen, Lloris could lose form and Archer could become the greatest keeper in history.

Feeling slightly optimistic are we? :) from what I hear vigoroux is rated the best out of the current crop, but none are outstanding...

Anyone interested in seeing Archer - Gilllingham v Wycombe on Monday is on Sky.

Gillingham are the league leaders whilst Wycombe are mid table, so expect to see Archer under some pressure
