Looks like Chris Powell wants him back. Think a season long loan at Charlton would do him good, unless we can find a Premier League suitor. Am I wrong to think that his contract was recently extended too?

Contract extended to June 2014 when he went on loan to Charlton. Only reservation about another Charlton loan is that he got very few minutes in hius first loan - so would need assurances that he would play motre if he went back.

Kind of why he needs to make a move quickly, so that he can cement his place. Would like to see him do well, even earn another extension. Do you think at this stage that's plausible? Always manages to score goals...

I unwisely wrote him off 2 years ago but he had a stormer of a season last year - both in our u21's but even at Charlton where on goals per minte it was about 3 goials in 4 or 5 matches.

If he goes on loan to a Championship club this season, plays regularly (say 25+ games) and repeats anywhere near his performance last season he'll either be sold or have earned another extension at Spurs.

He certainly knows where the goal is, is not without talent and can lead the line - all good attributes, but possibly not strong enough to fend off top quality defenders, but maybe he can rectify that. If so, there is still a possibility (low in my estimate) that he may simply be a late developer (Les Ferdinand didn't play top class football until about 26, Obika only 22) and might even stay on as a squad striker. Think its still unlikely, but I've stopped writing him off atm !

We should sell Obika for the good of his career, Charlton would be a good move for him.
