Merson and Nicholas spent ages today going on about how we've overspent on Lamela and Paulinho when we could have got Redmond and Leroy Fer for less (?!?!), neither of them bothered mention that Eriksen cost a quarter of what they spent on Özil.

That's just hilarious. Comparing Redmond and Fer to Lamela and Paulinho. We saw the difference fairly clearly today. I can't believe those nob jockeys call themselves pundits.

maybe not but Ozil is pure class just have to admit-scum have a world class player.

I'd never deny Ozil's quality. Brilliant player. But I would have taken Lamela and Eriksen over Ozil at the start of the summer, and didn't even know about Paulinho.

This was quite nice from a thread titled "Total annihilation at the lane" on the Pink'un. Link to the forum is here

Spurs were amazing today especially in that first half. I doubt any side in the division could have lived with them today. Unfortunately, people don't recognise the class they had on display but look instead for faults and mistakes they can pin on our players. If it was a boxing match, the ref would have stopped it before half time. We are highly unlikely to face such an onslaught again this season.

Somehow we managed to keep the score to 2-0 so it could have been much worse. We move on.

You all see the luck dragons on display for Arsenal today? Good Lord. Sunderland could have scored 7 (Granted, so could have Arsenal).

'To be honest we handed Spurs 3 points on a plate. They maybe a so called top 4 team but we were crap. If we played at our best we would of won that game. Spurs were not that great, we were just awful. Im glad we were not playing a top team we would of got hammered. Cant believe it was only 2-0.'

Seriously? That's up there with the shit you'd read on RAWK. I had hoped that level of stupidity was localised to a small part of the country but it seems not.

Fuck me! We had 68% possession and 23 shots on target according to BBC, 28 according to SSN. We played brilliantly, stifling their play constantly.....but we weren't that great?!?!

I've already heard a few pundits complain that Norwich were poor, didn't turn up etc. bullshit we just don't let teams play. Arsenal couldnt get a touch of the ball for long periods against us and had to play the counter which they did well. The midfield combo of paulhino, dembele or Sandro is such a powerful base, and now with eriksen we have the ability to turn domination into chances

This 100%.

There's a stark difference between just not turning up and not being allowed to turn up, this was definitely the case of the latter.

Why is that so hard to understand?

Open letter to chris Hughton from an American fan.

spacer.gif

Dear Mr. Hughton,

I am a loyal fan from New Jersey, USA. I have been watching football for only about 8 months, and readily admit that I have much to learn about the sport. However, what I have seen, thus far, has been less than inspiring. I do, however, feel quite qualified to offer you some choice advice concerning your decisions as manager of Norwich City Football Club.

Let me begin my critique by pointing out the obvious: to win a game, one must play on the offensive more than the defensive. However, I do realize that this must seem a less than obvious strategy, as you rarely play a hard offensive line. I have observed your consistent choice to play only your defensive players. The result is that Norwich players hardly reach the final third of their opponent’s half. This, quite clearly, means that a goal by Norwich City is highly unlikely from the beginning! When they do manage to overcome this foresight in your management skills, the result is one of shock and awe, often most strongly exhibited by the players on the pitch themselves, as they have no idea what to do with the ball. Don’t get me wrong, I have seen Norwich make some wonderful plays. This, however, has been when they were allowed to play offence.

My biggest qualm is that, due to your aforementioned strategy, Norwich players are often left playing defence when they have nothing to defend! How ridiculous! For example, in today’s (14 Sept.) most recent game against Tottenham, at the back end of the second half, Norwich was down 2-nill, yet you still insisted on almost no offensive plays! What did you have to lose? By choosing to forego a change in strategy, we had already lost the game. The only way to have a chance at even one goal would be to play like we were trying to score one! At that point, I was trying to decide which teams players you were trying to benefit from your managing choices; certainly not Norwich! Or maybe you do not realize that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again while expecting different results.

I mean no disrespect. This intention of this letter is to simply point out the flaws in your decisions that you so blatantly refuse to acknowledge and to hold you accountable to your responsibilities as manager. I suggest you reconsider one of two things: 1) Your future choices as manager, or 2) your resignation.

Sincerely,

Pissed-Off Spectator

P.S. I apologize for my Americanisms. I will gladly translate should the need arise.

Well, after enough performances of teams "not showing up" against us, the pundits (using that term loosely) will realize the common denominator is our side's domination.
