Would you guys be okay if Tim and Co focus their efforts solely on the league and play the kids in the EL and FA fixtures? or do you feel he must go for it in both EL and FA Cup games? or just focus on the league and pick one out of the EL and FA Cup to make an added priority?

I only ask because with the injuries piling up i wonder if we wouldn't be better suited to just focus on the league and give the other competitions a "pass". The obvious disadvantages to that are

1) We lose out on the opportunity to win a cup.
2) We lose out on possibly help the team gel in match game situations.
3) Some players might see their game time reduced with less competitions to play.

For me personally, the advantages to giving the EL and FA Cup a "pass" would be

1) More time for Tim and Co to implement their ideas to team/ actually get the team gelling in training (eg Liverpool , Everton )
2) Much less chance for injury
3) Much more time to prepare for League games and possibly drive ourselves up the league

I'm sure many will feel like we must go for it but i really want Tim to focus on the league. With one goal in mind (finishing top four) he could galvanize the team much more and treat every league fixture as final and definitely help push us further up the table. I welcome added opinions.

We've got a big enough squad to rotate. The kids are starting to get a chance in the league, so let's go for the lot!!

To be big, we need to think big, act big and do big.

If we can't cope with a few cups along side the league then we have no right being in the champions league.

Sandro, Paulinho, Vertonghen and Townsend should all be back in a few weeks. Our squad is massive so there's no reason to put aside any competitions. We've seen over the past weeks that we've got youth team players that are more than capable of doing a job when necessary as well.

Ridiculous giving up on the cups. The squad is huge and packed with quality, so we have enough about us to rotate and still put good teams out in all competitions.

We may well be out of the FA cup in two days, so we should be going all out on all fronts from here on in.

At least when we get verts, sandro, paulinho, defoe(or a new striker) back they will be well rested and raring to go until the end of the season

We have enough talent, especially with the kids coming through, to do our utmost to win everything we can.

Aiming for that top four is of primary importance but if we got a little silverware along the way I'd love it.

Let's go for it. Greedy woman me!

Terrible list of players to bring back in isn't it, Kaboul?

I think If the last few league games are anything to go by Sherwood has a massive amount of trust in the younger players so we will see them feature in the cups for sure.

Europa and the FA cup could well end up being our best chance of getting European football next season.

It's a fair question, as the league is obviously the most important for the club, but I would love to see us win a trophy (plus the FA cup final is on my birthday!).

Focus on the League for me. This is a strange season and whoever finishes in the top 4 will probably go on to better things. Miss out and you lose revenue and the ability to attract better players and your rivals get it. Cups are lovely but long term they don't count for much.

You cant pick and choose. You either aim to be a club that wins things or not.

In a few weeks we will probably have something like a full squad and players will be twiddling their thumbs without cup football to provide game time.

Aim to win every game. Winning is a habit and momentum plays a huge part.

I think winning proves consistency and confidence, we want to go out to win every game, go with this in find and we will get stronger as a team, we are more than capable of silverware this year and possibly fourth which quite frankly after the way this season has gone I would be extremely happy for. Let's be realistic, I want us to get forth or more but that is a real fight, if we are there and about in the final few games and make a final or win a cup it will have been a successful transitional season.

Had we lost today then I would have said put kids in on Saturday in the FA Cup. Now maybe we want to keep the feel good factor gained from an approach that goes out to win games. So I think mentally we need to keep trying to win every game. The EL is a long way away now and we can re-assess it's priority when the games start again.

So why not win the FA Cup and go for the highest league place we can get. Fortune favours the brave as they say

We can compete on all fronts, but people need to realise that putting a few youngsters in a cup game isn't throwing the game. We have some great kids coming through and they can all do a good job.

We should go as far as we can in all competitions. I don't think we even need to field deliberately weakened teams (subject to long injury list).

While the EL, for example, isn't everyone's favourite comp, we need to get the squad used to playing more games, not fewer. There's to my mind little point focussing only on the league so you can get CL, and then crash and burn from the Promised Land as the squad has little experience of the extra burden of European footy. Short term pain for long term gain, not vice versa.

Good points by all. Though i should've clarify what i meant when i said "pass" on cup competitions which is to say i'd rather see the youngers players and squad players being played primarily in these fixtures instead of risking the likes of dembele/ade.

Go for all of it, but not risk any players with injury problems like dembele, Sandro and Kabul. Also give a rest to certain players like ade who has played lots of games lately (don't know How fit he is).

The Squad is good and big enough

I see what you are trying to say but the Champions League is not comparable to any other competition. Between the revenue, the teams competing and the general setup, it stands alone. Us managing EL and FA Cups fixtures will not make us any better equiped to handle the Champions League.

Good point. I'd much rather Tim play the youth/squad players fixtures outside of the league.
