Seriously, naughton has two votes.....

Yes, but being sent off set the narrative...a gritty performance and we won playing with ten men for a lot of the game. It beats winning with eleven men. So, yeah, Naughton has to be considered for Man of the Match. Right??

Thought he was poor in midfield west ham dominated the game for most of the 1st half when he was midfield

He only played twenty minutes in midfield the entire game, and that twenty minutes WH didn't really dominate.

Dier - 10

Has to be a 10!!! It was a perfect game! :)

Keeps a clean sheet with his team down to 10 men, despite playing two positions and then scores the winner with a finish a striker would be proud of!

Amazing. So happy for him!

Townsend and Holtby changed it. Well played them and great sub MoPo!!!

People being a little hard on Lamela he played 60 minutes of competitive football after however many months sidelined by injuries. 40 minutes were when we were down to ten men. He played a better than I expected under the circumstances. People expect this 21 year old kid to come in absolutly boss teams because he is our most expesnive player but it really isn't going to happen. Its going to take time for him to adjust to the pace and get his confidence.

We didn't really put on an impreessive team today, so winning with an injury time goal has to be considered as fantastic. Great debut by young debutant Eric Dier!
We have a lot to work on, because the team we played today is not top 4 material.

So what? He plays in a completely different position cost about 1/5 of Lamela and has no expectation on him to be the messiah and anyway just because he had one good game it doesn't make him the prodigal son or the standard bearer for new players.

What? West ham were not on top and dominating midfield before the pen and sending off? Ok mate you want to open your eyes from time to time

You need to as well, open your eyes that is. If the others were doing their job as well as Capoue was doing his, we would not have been dominated. Hello Bentaleb!, Hello Lennon!, Hello Erikssen!

Agreed. Also, as a team we played pretty poorly so you can't say he was particularly bad in that respect. Derby games like these are different to the regular PL games, they've got a lot more bite in them. Lamela is still getting used to this and against a physical side like West Ham I wasn't expecting magic from him. He's very much a team player, trying to build up attacks and link up with others, rather than an individual player like Townsend. It's hard to do that when the team as a whole is playing poorly.
