Franco Baldini's future is in jeopardy after the Italian failed to secure a summer deal for a striker, according to the Mirror.

What kind of Mickey Mouse bullshit is this? I know it's the international break and shit, but can't they come up with better material to badmouth our club with? Jeez Louise!

if it werent for the fact that the head coach keeps telling everyone that weve got an unbelievable squad, this story would make COMPLETE SENSE.

I do not read the daily Mirror anyway. This is another journo's gossip story to have a go at THFC. As to transfers.. have Liverpool over paid for their players this season? as with Andy Carroll time will tell. Man Utd. same with their transfers..(which are better quality than pool) W Bony is overpriced at £25m. D Welbeck chose Arsenal, not Levy or Baldini's Poch. fault. As our signings are improving in form and experience of PL, and Euro League progress, will we be seeing another article in the Mirror saying well done Poch. Baldini & Levy, we were wrong to deride you Baldini? of course not !.

I can play this guess work game, too.

"Franco Baldini will soon quit Spurs, because he has achieved his actual mission, states sources within the club.

Baldini arrived last summer, supposedly to secure prime signings for the club. He has been linked with an exit every now and then since. Now, he is actually soon history.

Baldini was in fact not hired primarily to sign players. The Italian has played a role in some transfers due to his vast network, Lamela being the obvious among those.

His actual purpose has been to find a buyer for Tottenham Hotspur, to take it off the hands of Enic, Daniel Levy and Lewis.

Villas-Boas thought he was granted his wish of aid in securing the players he wanted, but when the news broke to him during the fatal meeting last December about Baldini's real role, he asked to leave the club.

The process of selling Spurs has now reached a stage where Baldini is no longer needed, and he will be looking to get his hands on more of a managerial position."

There. Took me 70 seconds. Why am I not a Sports-journalist.

Don't shoot the messenger (The Mirror) 'East Stand'.....and did Welbeck "choose" Arsenal as a last resort after Spurs got cold feet when they saw Man.U's asking price?
Missing Welbeck was inexcusable i.m.o.

£100k a week says otherwise.

Seems to me the the major failure this T/W was not in failing to find a striker but in failing to find 'good homes'. (either sell or loan) for those who were expendable, thus making it impossible to bring in any more new players. People obsess with the incomings but just as important are the outgoings & to me that's where this T/W fell down.

Welbeck chose Arsenal, cos the little toerag Wilshire was on at him to join them when they were at the England games... And £16m is too much for a player like him. £10m matbey.. we want better quality players than welbeck..

It's just speculation designed to attract people to the page so the adverts attract more money.

If Poch is our best signing this season, Baldini is our best signing last season.

he add's another hand to Levy, someone who can close deals instead of always waiting for the big guy who has alot on his plate

More like £100k a week and play in the CL or £50k a week and not play in the CL with us. No brainer really.

So it's Baldini's fault that Levy won't pay the inflated ransom prices put on Spurs' targets

The Mirror’s article also claims that Baldini tried to sell one of Aaron Lennon, Nacer Chadli or Andros Townsend before the transfer deadline, even though Pochettino wanted to keep all three, and says our head-coach is not convinced by either Emmanuel Adebayor or Roberto Soldado as his central striker.

Lennon and Soldado certainly know Pooch does not want them in his sides. Paulinho and Naughton will also have their doubts.
But all of them playing well will be vital if we are to push the top 4.

It is nonsense to think Baldini tried to sell these players behind his back anymore than he sold Sandro, Holtby, Daws and Sugurdsson without Pooch's say so.
For all Pooch's declarations that he is very happy with the squad, he has been ruthless this summer.
