Eriksen looked like a different player ...we know how good he can be with the ball, but his workrate without the ball was the difference.
Lamela just needs a break, he gave everything....just needs to be a little calmer and focussed , he wants to do well so much its almost the problem, but he is getting better and better.
Dembele was my MOM, he just ran the game for long periods.
Chadli is showing signs of being a good signing, and he is actually showing passion now ..
Ade..we failed to buy a decent striker and are paying for it .
Capoue..i think was good on the ball, but abit lacking without it at times.
Dier ..strong but looks like a fish out of water at RB
kaboul, better, but still makes me nervous.
Chirches ..just makes me nervous
Rose...he is not as bad as people on here make out, just needs to use his head more.

Gutted we never won, still wondering how that happened, but can definately see Poch's stlye coming through ,still a few players needed to get where we want to be though....Striker for sure,

Agree about Eriksen and again he covered more ground than any other Spurs player.

Embarrassing how people slate Naughton/Rose/Bentaleb/Kane for every single mistake they make yet when players like Eriksen go missing for 3 games conveniently forget that and get all excited when he has one good game. I'm not talking about the abilities of any of the players in this post, solely on performances. In a similar way to youtube making any transfer target look amazing, if you only focus on the things certain players do wrong, of course they will be terrible in your eyes.

With regards to Naughton being 26 and only managing to be a back-up RB for Spurs, what more do you want? You go find a world class RB who is happy to sit on the bench most weeks and play 2nd fiddle to Walker. It won't happen, he's 2nd choice for a reason but as far as 2nd choices go, I think Spurs fans need to get off his back and realise he's just not as bad as you make out (similar to Rose - the hatred for him is pathetic).

Gus Poyet was very honest and complimentary about us in every post match interview I heard. Said we were by far the best side they've played and he understood why Pochettino would feel robbed.

All true but nice to hear a manager be honest about skanking a point instead of coming out with the same old bullshit cliches.

Indeed. As soon as I heard his interview I felt calmer after feeling so annoyed.

I would rather a really encouraging performance like that, and the dropped points, than a scrappy three points and a performance that didn't really deserve them.

Simply because it bodes better for the longer term - and whilst we're certainly still in the early stages of development under Pochettino - the quicker we can make waves to adopting his style the better.

It was a very big step in our development, pinky. I know you were a little frustrated but nice to see you see the big pic.

There some fantastic things on sat that I absolutely loved: Eriksen fired up and looking to cut off passing pathways when he was pressing (very important to me as I was concerned that he may not have the dogged spirit needed to make it here long term, sat put that to rest for me); Lamela at RB at one point trying to win the ball like a crazy man; the sense of general cohesion in our play; the general dominance we had away from home attempting to implement all of poch's instructions against a tough battling team that can be tricky to play; Dembele looking like a pivotal beast in the middle (so pleased to have the real him back); Capoue next to him with a calm precision about his play all game.

There are other things, but what I'm looking for between now and christmas is us always taking steps forward and on sat I saw a jump in a few places so I'm proper pleased.

This season is a proper development season...not like we've had before though; this one is about real, hardcore development, the type of development that will see us right for the next few years and hopefully beyond.

We will have a system of play like we've never had before imo, a very precise, meticulously thought out and executed way to play the beautiful game beautifully.

It's worth waiting for.

Without doubt, the reason why I wanted Pochettino was obviously his style of football. Whilst he had a speedy impact at Southampton it doesn't mean he's going to click his fingers here and we're all singing off the same hymn sheet within a few weeks.

There will be ups and down and mistakes along the way - all part of the learning curve.

I do think we'll get stronger with every passing week though and I wouldn't be one bit surprised if our second half to the season is very strong indeed.

Its exciting times. I'm very confident regarding Pochettino - we're aspiring to play in a clear style, a playing identity, which is playing football the way I want to see it being played - and I'm convinced it will bring success in the long term.

Not to mention Pochettino carries himself remarkably well IMO, he's a real credit to the Club.

I think we've finally got our man.

Not everyone has a TV mate.

Yeah maybe, just thought I'd see what his situation was like. Hook him up with a stream or something? He has internet access, obviously..

Shame a spurs fan can't get to watch matches and judging by his username he's been one for a damn long time

Did you watch the Dortmund game tonight Pinky ?

The pressing was orgasmic. Not just high up, but everywhere on the pitch, every single player. Dismantled Arsenal and should have tonked them.

Yeah - was watching it in disbelief!

Just insane, the spring and energy in their pressing was as good as I've ever seen.

I would say their pressing, desire and determination to win the ball back just completely overwhelmed Arsenal.

The Arsenal boys in the studio lashed into them but the truth was they just had no answer to Dortmund, none. When you play like that the result is pretty much inevitable.

I absolutely loved every minute of it.

If Pochettino can manage, in time, to get us half as good as that I'll be delighted - in terms of off the ball work - and Dortmund are just as impressive without the ball as they are with it.

It's a different kind of press though, it's called gegenpress

Different to the kind Poch is working towards

To be honest, with the team they have right now, they are probably more impressive without the ball than with it. Or at least until they get to the final third. Mkhitaryan has got to be the most polar combo of good footballer/terrible finisher I've seen.

Most impressive though the way they a)press and b) transition. I love watching them.
