Can someone explain all of this bitterness for Sherwood please?

- he put himself in the deep end and did a very good job

- towards the end of the season we were looking solid defensively and positive going forward eg- stoke away, villa home .

- he sounded out the big time Charlie's

- he helped developed numerous youngsters prior to being manager. Bentaleb, Kane, Townsend, these are the future of the club

- if given the step up he would have signed premier league ready players similar to what Harry had done . I guarantee with those type of players we would have been strong

Say what you want about the guy, he may not be world class or next level , but he is a good man and should have been kept in some capacity having the likes of him, sir les and co around is necessary , I feel like currently we have no "soul" that is the problem ... He will get a job and come back to haunt us one day. I believe in poch, but I also believe "dim Tim" should have been treated better by our own

This'll go well...

Although there is one thing that people don't seem to touch on: Sherwood's act for the media. Obviously it was going to upset those who were already dead set against him, but that kind of blunt, slightly controversial persona is something that can appeal to a lot of people - and may make him popular in the press.

He'd clearly been studying Mourinho and Redknapp and maybe he didn't quite pull it off but I can't begrudge it.

People hate Sherwood because he told the truth and our fans couldn't accept that truth.

Didn't he play Jack Nicholson's part in Borehamwood's Amateur Dramatics version of "A Few Good Men"?

Personally I could not give a shit about Sherwood and what he was good/bad at. However the fact that he has talked himself out of at least a couple of jobs and is still not working may give some a idea.

Because people wanted the next shiny fashionable manager. When Sherwood was announced they used absolutely any excuse to get on his back because he wasn't the man they wanted. Just like a few people are now starting to do with Poch.

You got some statistical evidence to back that up?

Didn't we concede three that match? in the first 30 minutes?

The guy is cad, and if he ever decided to take another job (he seems to be shirking a few) he will be found out quickly. I very much doubt he has the ability to manage at the level he thinks he does.

We won 0-1.

Various factors:

It didn't help that for ages 'ITK' painted him as some malevolent force at work behind the scenes who was plotting and scheming. We also had the senior management of this website calling him a **** before a ball had been kicked based on what they knew. I think this shaped some peoples view on the situation.

Then there were the AVB fanboys who were crying about him going and so his successor was always going to get abuse.

Then some people didn't like him as he was the second coming of Redknapp in their eyes.

Linked to the above, didn't like the supposed 'neanderthal' tactics and that he wouldn't play some of our apparently 'better' players

Some didn't like his accent and the way he spoke.

Some didn't like him criticising the players, even though what he said was almost certainly true. Some fans probably didn't want to hear/believe it.

Oh yeah, he was apparently an Arsenal fan. If you listen to one of the lunatics on this site you would get told he was deliberately ruining the club.

The Gilet.

A lot of posters fairly amusingly were panicking that he wasn't merely a caretaker (which was obvious) and were fretting that he was Emperor for life and would have to put up with all of the above for the next x amount of years.

I judged him so negatively as much on his (lack of) tactics as I did on my perception of his personality. By this I mean that if he was a random man in the pub and I was overhearing his conversation and the way he talks I would have assumed him an absolute wanker who would probably have got drunk and while on the way home eating a kebab would have tried to get in a fight and then blamed everyone else for it and then bigged himself up over the amount he could drink.

I just thought he was a bit of a wanker, whether that is fair or unfair that was my opinion.

Plus criticism of things is best said to the players and without the need to inform your press buddies of everything that you believe (and that suited his agenda)

I don't really hold any grudges or bitterness toward anyone who used to/still does play/manage/own Spurs*

They either did well, didn't do well or somewhere in between. For some it worked out, for some it didn't. What none of them are are shit****s deserving of some of the persistent vitriol dished out on here. Life is too short.

*Well, maybe Sol but even with him it's turned into a vague disinterest now that he's become an irrelevance.

... He will get a job and come back to haunt us one day.

I have to say I am not losing sleep about this!

I am delighted he's gone because he made us a laughing stock. It was all about him, his points record and his f***ing gillet, his public criticism of the board, his public criticism of individual players, his and Sir (!) Les' comments on defensive midfielders etc etc etc. Arrogance and ignorance hand in hand, and he wanted the whole world to know.

We all love seeing our own kids come through the system and play....... but only if they're good enough. Personally I wasn't looking forward to a 2014/15 where we recalled Jake Livermore and signed Gareth Barry. But each to their own.......

Oooh I know this one! Is it because we played awful football, looked like a kids team and he couldn't stop blaming everyone and their dog for the problems without any hint of self awareness, he literally couldn't keep his gob shut. He made me not give a shit about football.

And that salute thing he did to Ade, that picture makes my skin crawl.

He didn't do a bad job on the surface but we were a bit headless chicken tactics wise. A lot of the things he was saying about the squad being gutless is proving true now and I think Poch is trying to work on this behind the scenes. Ultimately it was just a face fits.

I disliked him for two reasons. Firstly I don't think it was wise to appoint a man with no experience (although that wasn't, of course, his fault). Secondly I don't care for his media behaviour. I think there's a time and a place to say things and, in my opinion, you don't undermine your squad by airing dirty laundry, complaining about half your squad and pushing the blame for problems to anyone but yourself. Sherwood and his "I know who to count on" act was bollocks. It was his job to improve the squad and get them playing, and that means all the players. A lot of fans thought "he's just saying what we all think and he's being honest". But he wasn't in a position where he could do that without it having a negative impact on the squad.

What's more, I detested the ego the man boasted, which well outweighed his experience. Gems like "we would have been in the top four if I had been manager all season" and "I won't do any other job now at this club but be manager" made me sick. The stories that since came out about how he was turning down managerial jobs because the pay wasn't good enough just reinforces to me what the man is like.

At the end of the day Sherwood got a great chance to start his managerial and he's seemingly wasted it because he can't keep his gob shut and knows no sense of humility for the stage that he's at in his managerial career. I'm glad to see the back of him.
