This is actually not a joke.
Adam Nunn the linesman from todays game is a gooner. He is 29/30 and grew up in the same area as me (wiltshire). I see from a few of his friends on facebook they arr going to give him some shit for that.

Would you guys do the same at the death star?

I knew him. Wouldn't say he's a hardcore gooner at all. I also wouldn't question his integrity... Just had a mare here I think rather than anything sinister...

Not in a million years would he risk his career by making an intentionally abysmal decision which would result in no real benefit to him or Arsenal and no real loss to us.

If I had made it my life's work to go through all the levels of officiating and finally get to the promised land of the semirates knowing full well it would be my one and only time there, I would go to town;

Offsides from everything including backpasses, penalties for looking at the opposition funnily (you'd see me saying to the ref through the earpiece "ungentlemanly conduct") "accidentally" giving offside just as Walcott is speeding down the right (blinding him in the process) claiming all the players called me banned words and that they should be sent off, and the game ending with me taken out on a stretcher and Arse docked 20 points with the opposition getting a 0-3 result by them finishing with less than 7 men.

If you're gonna do it, do it in style, not making yourself look a joke.

I have to confess, i actually came in here thinking it was a thread about Woolwich branded floor covering, suitable for kitchens and bathroom, popular in the 80's sort of lino and was going to ask why it was in Spurs chat.

I have a very short attention span, my apologies.

Pathetic decision. Disgusting that between the 2 officials they got that so horribly wrong. Everybody knows you cannot be offside when the ball is played and your in your own half. He was 5 yards onside

Should never run the line again at that level

Nah, I don't think that his club allegiance would have anything to do with his terrible decisions yesterday. He's just a shit linesman, that's all.

The linesman can always overrule it, but Foy is an Arsenal fan too. Look how he screwed us over against Stoke City a few years back.

Them things are out of our control, it's like when Fulop hated Spurs and decided to re-enact the Benny Hill Show with West Brom v Arsenal on the last day of the season

For a decision so simple, he needs to spend a few Sunday mornings officiating at Hackney Marshes. A quite monumental clusterfuck of the very highest order.

Well Vertonghan was well in the Sunderland half when he ran on to the ball and just in the Spurs half when the ball was passed to him but it was all very quick. Good reason for 4th official quick review.

My manager (spurs fan) was the ref at an under 16 game between us and them. Ended up over compensating and giving us nothing!

Whether it was cheating from a bent lino or shitness from a shit lino, why a goon is allowed to officiate at one of our games is scandalous. Shouldnt be allowed. How that can happen shows how corrupt and/or inept those that run our game truly are. The sky 5 already get enough help from 'neutral' refs as it is without having rivals doing your games

Yeah but if as someone said early that he isn't that much of a fan, then what can they do? If he doesn't admit to liking arsenal and there is no evidence of such the refs association would be none the wiser.

He should never officiate in the PL again. He was bad all game in fairness, but still, to get that wrong is unforgivable. Sheer incompetence or something else, we will never know.

Hes made a shocking error, but he's inexperienced too. The axe should fall on Foy, an experienced ref, serial offender who should be able to see that and overrule it, he had nothing else to be looking at/for than the pass from Paulinho, we all knew it was coming.

Are people saying Vertonghan was in his own half when he received the ball or in his own half when it was passed to him ?

We were lucky Fletcher missed his open goal from an offside position as this same linesman didn't give it.
As for Verts 2nd goal that linesman just couldn't wait to give that offside thinking he was being clever. Having Foy is bad enough but with a gooner on one line and Mourinho brother on the other is taking the piss.. only joking.

Unbelievable decision. There seems to be no accountability for the officials.
