The local residents - "However, those living around the ground are aggrieved by the latest decision, which officers at Enfield Borough Council have recommended for approval."

THFC - “We have held a series of meetings with local residents, groups and statutory organisations over the past few months in order to discuss and adapt the design in order to address any points raised.

I think I need a little help understanding this

Is that not somewhat contradictory? How/why is there people who are aggrieved, if the club has been liaising with them & have been adapting the designs to facilitate the concerns of the residents who are aggrieved?

Also, if there's local opposition to the proposed development, does that not make it unlikely that planning permission will be granted, even though Enfield Borough Council have recommended approval?

Nimby's. They have complained about everything we have built there. The last one was the 500 seater stand that no-one outside the training ground could see as it was blocked by tree's. They complained that it would increase traffic etc... and were told that no extra people would be arriving as 500 is the amount we usually get. They still complain though (all 7 of them).

Ah so it's only a very small amount of people then. Thank you for the details (y)

I have no doubt it's that bird who owns the lentil shop in Forty Hill who is kicking up a fuss...she's only happy when she's having a whinge.
