I was in the pub...to be sure if you'd been there with a microphone there'd be plenty that could be analysed post-game! I'm buzzing now, of course. As I'm sure are everyone who were critical of mistakes made during the game.
It used to be a regular feature for a while - only a bit of banter... encourage folk to be more positive. The fans remaining positive today was a huge factor imo!

Too Narrow, Too Slow? If anything we played a higher tempo in the first half and I can remember Rose and Walker both bombing into space on the flanks in the first half.

A few runs up the side does not a wide team make, despite some excellent runs from Rose. Both Eriksen and Lamela were very narrow in the first half, and Hargreaves was spot on as he relentlessly commented on it. No doubt in my mind it was a Poch instruction to have Lamela sit a bit wider, as Arse was collapsing on our right with Eriksen playing his free role. Lamela then sitting wider allowed for far more space for Mason, Bentaleb, Dembele, and Eriksen to work through and made a massive difference.

I won't get into the pace issue as today is too positive to get into that, but no my post was an observation I stand by and absolutely not a knee jerk.

Definitely. Keeping a positive atmosphere is critical. I just don't like it (regular feature or not) when naming and shaming is done purely for the sake of shaming individual posters.

Dunno, when the chances were being missed I was dreading the worst. At best I thought it'd be 1-1 with an Eriksen 88th min job. But seeing how the players were pressing, they could have gone on for 200 mins at that pace.

I think our manager is tactically naive at the best of times, but the way he's instilled this fitness regiment on them the right way, it doesn't matter. We will win more than we draw or lose through work ethic alone.

from arse forum

"Boggles the mind we can produce such a **** performance with these players out there on the pitch. Outplayed and outfought by dross like Bentaleb and Mason."

Exactly. Were it not for a couple moments of brilliance from Kane, the mood would be entirely different. Absolutely no need to harsh on the celebrations by picking out criticisms made while the team were struggling to find a way through.

In the end we won, let's all enjoy it and high five one another yeah?

If people on here are looking for a critical free journey during a game of football in a football forum, then they are incredibly stupid to say the least.

What makes me really laugh though is that after a victory how the hindsight Trolls come out in force and feel that they are actually clever. Quite funny really. Those same people never copy and paste endless quotes after a loss though.

I'm a little disappointed that Wenger has been so [relatively] magnanimous in his post-match comments/behaviour. There is NOTHING that I like better in football than seeing him go nuclear on the sour grapes front. That water bottle throw when Kaboul scored in the 2-3 win at the Emirates still makes me glow inside to this day.

Agree, but not sure he had anywhere to turn after that. There were no grey areas or genuine talking points in terms of controversial decisions. They were just out played in every respect. He sounded very low which I enjoyed as well.

Poch has just said in his main presser that it was the greatest support he'd seen at the lane.

Another little snippet. He needed quite a few questions translated for him. I thought his bad English was a bit of an act. Clearly its not.

I don't really understand how after living here for so long he cant speak better English.

Wengers on now. Still praising our cm but reckons both our goals were cheap goals. He had a cheeky smile on his lips though...
He speaks perfectly functional English, but in a public situation may feel inhibited. It's a sign of intelligence that if he doesn't know something then he asks for help. In any case, the journalists asking questions tend not to be that articulate.

Hindsight troll - I like it. Hindsight's a bitch and so am I. We were better all over the pitch all game. My mood would have been good even if we lost because it's clear Mo Po is building something special. Some people love to complain and call our players shit. Boo hoo if they don't like being pulled up on it.

This.

It could've gone either way, everyone knows that. It went our way: we celebrate together.
I'm not sure you were watching the same match: we had put our foot on their throat for most of the match and could have scored more. The truth is sometimes a bitter pill.

Haha, if you think I was in anyway unhappy during that game then you're utterly clueless.

We deserved to win. Doesn't mean our performance was beyond criticism.
