I'll tell you what one bunch of our opponents' fans is saying:
I see the Gooner-supporting hacks on The Mirror have been at it again. Day after we put their team in its place, they concoct a "story" about how ManUre "will move for" Lloris if De Gea goes to RM. Yesterday must have really pissed them off.

I think the Liverpool fans believe, perhaps correctly, that they are an improved side since we met earlier in the season but it seems beyond most of them that the same applies to us.

Think we'll find it tougher than the Arsenal game. They will be a bit tired though it will be their third game in 6 days. Just need to not get carried away from the Arsenal game and do our job. We need a win. It will kill their CL hopes and really open up ours.

I came across a forum called Gooner 2 Gooner and wanted to share a few 'conversations', or more likely if you could hear them conversing....grunting and scratching fleas from their bodies.

here's a few for you...

"We're flying at the minute and our team is full of goal scorers; defence has been resolute ever since we dropped Szczesny (who would've thought? ), it is a derby so form means little but I can't see anything but a win for us.

1-3."

"Like Herd, I don't know anything about the Swamp Dwellers or their so called stars Kane and Eriksen as I refuse to watch their games. But as they play for that lot I assume their a load of old shit
icon_cool.gif
"

"While Eriksen is a decent player, I dont think he'd make our starting 11. Cazorla is better, Ozil is better and I'd even take Rosicky over him for at least this season and maybe 1 more."

"Is anyone thinking of bringing a few accessories to wind up the spuds? Thought it might be a good idea for, 'when' we score, to get loads of red balloons on the go in the away section...?
icon_barscarf.gif

"

"Hate is such a powerful and emotive word, that I choose to reserve it mainly for that lot down the toilet.
I hate them with a passion.
0-3 - Bet on it."

"In all seriousness would it really be dangerous to walk in Spud territory alone/isolated as an Arsenal fan?
Never been to a NLD."

"3-1 to The Arsenal. I hate everything about these chicken-on-a-basketball wearing, bullying, delusional crunts.
Fucking destroy them

PLEASE DO NOT FUCK THIS UP ARSENAL"

After having a little read and seeing that there were no actual photos of these 'Gooners', I had to leave it to my imagination when thinking about what 'Gooner 2 Gooner' fans would look like.

Obviously I had a good long think about the level of intellect shown, use of language, and general all round intelligence that shone through the majority of said 'fans'. All that came to mind was this:

When you see all sorts of excuses their fans are conjuring up as to why Arsenal lost to us yesterday, it makes you realize just how much we really did dominate them. They were a sorry, inept side yesterday. I know they aren't normally, but they were so incredibly weak and their tactics so negative. There was only one result that would have done that match justice, and thankfully it all worked out as it should have.

Finally got a reply from one of my Gooner mates who seemingly vanished at the same time as we equalised. Tbf to him it was about as rational and gracious as I could expect from one of that lot:

"Mate. You outplayed us. Harry Kane looks the real deal. I have nothing else to say. You still won't get Champions League though...". I like the 'I have nothing else to say' line. Sounds like he's as broken up about it as Claude was on YouTube.

Another mate has also messaged me to say Kane is "a one season wonder, like Ramsay last season".

Ian Wright is still AWOL on Twitter though (last seen at 12:58 tweeting "I love you Mesut"). Might be interesting/funny to see how much stick he gets on 606 later (presuming he's back doing that).

But I believe (ok want) Spurs will win every game too.

Believing you 'can' win every game (what most fans do) is very different from believing you 'will' win every game (which is more like the prevailing standpoint on RAWK). One is borne out of hope and a little bit of confidence. The other is borne out of arrogance and, often in the case of Liverpool fans, a total absence of any respect for every other club in world football.

Someone made a comment in the match thread that Poch has given us our identity back and I will agree with that, But actually I think he's creating a better identity than the one we ever had under Redknapp. We looked comfortable on the ball, we were gritty with the pressing and tackling, we passed well, we counter attacked well, we defended well and we didn't look tired in doing it. Arsenal on the other hand looked like they had no identity what so ever, They didn't look like an Arsenal team and I think that a lot of that was down to us not letting them.

Acid test will be Liverpool though.

A Liverpool supporting mate just told me that Kane wouldn't get into their starting line up and tried to justify it by saying they play one up front so he wouldn't get in ahead of Sturridge.

Then he said that he's playing no better than Carroll was when they paid £35m for him.

I.....don't.... even

Yeah, I agree completely. Liverpool has our number right now, there's no doubt about that. We simply haven't been able to come near them in the past season and a half, maybe more (I'm still salty about that shitty goal we gave up to I think it was Downing when Walker just played him in on goal at Anfield).

Liverpool are playing better recently, and we're going to get everything they've got, unlike Arsenal who simply wanted to sit back and beat us on the counter.

I'm just surprised you met a Liverpool fan that could string a sentence together.

What is bizarre is how prevalent it is on RAWK.

Normally you go to a message board for a team (regardless if it is Spurs, United, Soton, Burnley or CFC) you will see a huge amount of supporters who will reside in the "middle" of the supporter spectrum with a few on each end of the spectrum (negative to the point of caricature or positive to level of entitlement)....the middle are the group that will carry most conversations.

But on RAWK....its staggering, regardless of the subject it seems that everyone resides on one pole or the other either every match is a guaranteed win and failing to do so should result in firing everyone at the club and selling all the players aside from Gerrard OR they should lose every match, should have fired the manager ages ago and all the players are shit (except Gerrard) but if they win it is a case of pure luck and don't worry they will lose the next one.

It's as if all the people on RAWK got together and summarily executed the reasonable supporters for not being radicalised enough in one direction or another....when they do pop up (on the rare occasion) they get berated for knowing nothing about the sport from both sides of the spectrum...

It's just...odd.

Good, then we can hit them on the break.:)
In the home game Gerrard ran the whole show as he had so much time on the ball without us even challenging him, we never got near him, I can't see that happening again with our current midfield.
