But if that is true wouldn't we have sold him during the recent window to Swansea?

My first thought as well. Seem almost irreconcilable, unless Swansea simply decided Cork was a safer option, or more likely the more valuable buy.

Read that same news earlier today. Gutted if it's true. If this happens he will be along with Luongo one of the guys who never really got a chance but unlike Luongo had more than earned it. Livermore and Caulker both got fair game time in the first team before being sold (appear correct decisions) and I think that is the way we should work with our young players. Here's hoping the ITK is misinformed

I would love to see a team of home growns and am always a little gutted when one doesn't make it. What I like seeing though is not just the players success inside the club but outside as well. The livermores and caulkers help us as they still show the opportunity we offer to our kids. They play in the PL and come from our academy and the more we see of that the better it is for prospects selecting us. I have always thought Tom lightweight but following DaSpurs comments am tending to agree give him a chance as any translation of the 40 goals ratio into the prem would be amazing.

ITK is not news, mostly it is personal agendas, if not of the ITK themselves then of their sources. Take with a large pinch of salt.

Ye I meant news as in New information not classifying ITK as news. I know it should be taken with a pinch of salt.

But so should the actual 'news' as they also have their own agendas and can make up information.

Seasons over damaged his ankle ligaments, I would send him back to us personally

I hope he isn't going to miss the U21's he has worked hard to get there

With all the talk of our best players being available. if he captained the team after all the hard work and we won. Would be another great story for our academy and do wonders for his confidence

Shame with the injury! But in fact he wouldn't play anymore for Swansea, not even in the Squad the last games, 5 choice in the midfield … so why would we take him back?

Well they bid 5 mil for him in Jan and got rejected suggesting they wanted him. They instead bought Jack Cork to prepare for the future who is a very capable PL player and young. So the question is at the back end of a season with nothing really to play for why would a PL club play and develop a 21yo who will not play for them next season ahead of a 21yo player who is theirs and will be there next season. They are getting ready for next season so why are they going to play Carroll or have him on the bench when they can try other players. Its not an indication of his ability. Before that happened he was voted their player of the month. If you're using this as a reason to say he isn't good enough for us you'll have to look for another.

I think being Englans u21 skipper is a good indication of his ability

I think we should bring him back for treatment. We're going to be more aggressive in seeing he has the best access to resources and therapy to get him back on track considering he's one of our own, so I think it's the best course of action.

Not that, it would good for next season for him to be around the place especially with all his mates doing well at the moment

Very true, I would imagine Bull's Crossing is a very positive place to be atm, especially for a guy who came up with these players now running the show.

Shame about the injury. Hopefully he comes back for recovery, and is ready for the u21s. But im not sure now if he'll be called in for it and if the club will release him for it.

What sort of injury and is that serious?

I'm assuming it means a slight tear in his ankle ligament, which while isn't that bad it certainly merits a good amount of rest. He may be out for a good while (six weeks is very optimistic).

I thought he was going to be sold prior to this injury, and I'm trying to figure out if his injury means he's even more likely sold, less likely to be sold or it really doesn't mean a whole heck-of-a-lot.

If I were to guess, I think he'll be an Aston Villa player in the summer.
