Just watching first half of the England U17's v Ireland. Now had a couple of good looks at Edwards now as opposed to the little snippets I'd seen before.

I have to say he is possibly the most naturally talented attacking footballer I've seen at our academy. This boy has serious talent.

Obviously he's wonderful on the ball with outstanding technique & balance but he also has real vision and gets his head up and plays some really clever, incisive passes.

Really promising to see this England U17 play. They seem to be much better coached than when I watched one of these tournaments a few years back and only Sturridge and Adam Smith tried to play football.

It's all about short passing, good tempo, movement. Seems like the FA have finally decided English kids should play proper football.

Perry Suckling gone to QPR to head their Accademy under Les Ferdinand.

Interesting to see who if anyone steps in to fill the role to head up the accademy goalkeeping, Rob Burch maybe or even Brad.

Crazy to think how many youth coaches we have had poached away.

Won't be Brad - he is heading back to America for a job with Fox Sports.

ah soz, pardon my ignorance but can you progress from the foundation to the academy then spursidol?

@mpickard2087 has given a pretty decent answer but just to add, the Foundation is basically there to provide training in many skills (icluding football) to help youngsters find a career/job, Its possible but rare for youngsters from the foundation to be picked up by the academy. Lawrence Vigoroux who had been released (I think by Orient) did well enough on the Foundation to join the Spurs Academy, but after a couple of years we released him as we had several good GK's at his age and he then joined Liverpool who had a shortage of GK's.

So the Foundation has given him a very good opportunity to be a professional footballer - but he's the only example I can think of so far where a Foundation lad has joined the Acdemy

I don't know if you did this on purpose but you both seemed to have forgotten Maghoma who has also been playing u21s. Him and CCV will still most likely be the CB partnership with Tanganga rotated in for CCV whenever he has other commitments. I'm still specifically referring to the FAYC.[/QUOTE]

IMO both CCV and Maghoma have probably learned as much as they are likely to at u18 level - both played at that level last year (as under age players) as well as this season, so I think they will be looking to play u21's next season.

Ball and Veljkovic have probably learned as ,much as they can do at u21 level, hence their loans out this season. Ideally I'd like to think that they could get a few appearances for the first team next season, but think that will depend on whether they get the opportunity in pre-season and take it plus also depends on who else is bought. But its possibly more likely that both will be loaned out again for experience, thus leaving the CB positions wide open for CCV and Maghoma at u21 level.

So no, haven't forgotten Maghoma at all.

I chanced up this site: http://www.football-talents.co.uk/Tottenham_Hotspur-26_27-2-9-170.html

A bit weird site with lots of random players from the past that - I have never heard of - being listed plus some u-16 to u-18 players who I have also never heard of or even know if they're still Spurs players...
Anybody knows anything about these players:
Brandon Austin, Charles Freeman, Donnie Longalonga, Ben Goodliffe, Rares Lazar (Romania), Jayden Quildón Parke (Colombia), Hector Kyprianou (Cyprus)

Lazar is the Romanian lad we signed last summer. Think he's 15 or 16.

That's quite cool. I believe Austin is an u16 keeper who may join the academy next year along with Whiteman. Charlie Freeman is also a keeper but I believe he is an u15 so won't see for a couple of years. There were reports we had signed a kid from Romania called Rares Lazar but I had heard from various sources at the training ground that noone had heard of his name or knew who he was so don't know where that had come from. Not sure on the others

Also Kane Vincent-Young was Onomah's age group I believe and was released. Defintely a few names I haven't heard of there but I do recognise quite a lot of the youngsters and released players.

I don't doubt that they will play u21s next year but I was more talking about our team for the FAYC. The same way Onomah came down to help I'd expect CCV and Maghoma too. As you had Tanganga over Maghoma not that it's a poor decision I was a bit surprised as he would have had u21 experience and would be more developed than JT.

Hope Ball and MS do get chances. If not hopefully Ball gets a good loan above L2

His father Darren is now pushing for a much bigger contract. Marcus is very good friends with Reece Oxford at West Ham who is currently being paid £10k pw. Marcus is rated as one of the best in Europe for his age group and will be expecting a very good offer from Spurs. Lets see what DL offers.

Haha, Levy offering a 16 year old 10k a week! Over his cold and withered dead body.

Anyone with a name like Donnie Longalonga deserves to make it.

Outstanding player. Really incredible some of the things he can do.

Willock looked pretty good.

I think he has looked really good too. Think sometimes our Spurs tint may cloud our judgement on Arsenal youth but they definitely have a talent. Went on Arsenal board and they were raving about him and barely mentioning Edwards haha. Willock is an excellent dribbler but unlike Edwards that seems to really be the only part of his game. Edwards can pass, has vision etc.

Chris has a little brother (Joe) who is also an excellent player
