We signed Trippier?!? My god what a brilliant bit of business if true.

I suppose it makes sense when you look at it by each fact. Walker has been struggling recently, Fredericks has only a year left on his contract and there will be interest, Yedlin looks to need a loan, Poch does like to rotate his fullbacks considerably with midweek games, and it's said Trippier has a low release clause.

Excellent, excellent bit of business if this is true.

Has had a good season,
makes me question why we sold Naughton though.

Much more conducive player to Poch's system, and if it's true about what it's said Trippier's release clause is, we actually made a profit buying a younger, better, more compatible player.

Makes me question the futures of both Walker and Yedlin if we sign Trippier, one of them will go if he comes in.

This would be a good piece of business wrapped up nice and quick. Surely it signals the end of Walker, though?

I expected Trippier to go to Southampton if they sold Clyne.. decent player at a good price. He's had a good season.

Very good news if true. Kane is going to love getting on the end of Trippier's crosses and he has the Burnley work ethic.

Could just mean a loan for Yedlin. Certainly possible Poch would want to unload Walker though.

Just a thought - perhaps Trippier being used in a deal for Ings?

It's Bournemouth, not Burnley, who will get most of the money from the tribunal. So perhaps it's a fiddle like Davies and Vorm? Say pay £6.5m for Trippier and £0.5m for Ings, instead of £3.5m for Trippier and compensation for Ings.

Yedlin needs a loan move to a PL club to really test his mettle and see if he's up to the standards we need him to be.

Trippier would be an excellent signing. I also think he'd provide Walker with a similar kick up the arse to what Rose got when we signed Davies.

Good player, and for 3.5m it's a no brainer, but the RB situation is gonna be tricky to manage.

If signed we'd have 5 RB's (Walker, Trippier, Yedlin, Fredricks, KWP), and I hope that doesn't hinder KWP's development, because I think he's got real potential.

I'd imagine Yedlin will go on a loan this season, Fredricks will be sold (only 1yr left on his contract too), KWP will have one more season in the U21's, and Walker and Trippier will fight it out for the first team spot.

Could be tricky after next season though as one of Yedlin, Walker or Trippier will have to be sold imo.

Best case scenario : Trippier has the same effect on Walker as Davies on Rose, and he returns to his PFA YPOTY 2012 form.

We do love a right back. He's always looked decent when I've watched Burnley but I still think Walker is the better player (form permitting). Really looks like Yedlin was bought for marketing reasons only though, which is a shame.

Agreed verbatim, but also the rotation. To date, the fullback slots have been the only positions where we've seen Poch religiously rotate personnel between weekend and midweek matches, so it's no surprise he wants two competitive options for each side to keep the legs fresh for a position with a heavy distance load.

The Mail article says that Liverpool are interested in Trippier and Ings but have put transfer business on hold until talks over Rodgers' future have taken place. We could steal a march on Ings as well!
