A damn sight better than we've treated Yedlin, at least Clint played a lot of games for us, Yedlin has played 10 minutes.

I don't really think we treated Yedlin badly, you get what you deserve from Pochettino. He obviously thinks Dier is superior to Yedlin at RB even though it's not Diers normal position. If Yedlin can't prove to Pochettino in training that he deserves to start then he shouldn't and subing on a RB in the middle of a game isn't really something you do often.

Yeah I'm a bit confused by Fredericks hasn't been given a chance either, can only think that they see KWP as more of a prospect and wanna go with him instead of Ryan.

Much more conducive player to Poch's system, and if it's true about what it's said Trippier's release clause is, we actually made a profit buying a younger, better, more compatible player.

Irt to slotting into poch's demanding style, players from both Burnley and Leicester are perfectly suited as they already have fantastic work ethic - hunger, passion, intensity, indefatigability etc.

Qualitative restrictions apply, obviously, but they have that 'eye of the tiger'.

I think Poch needs to take into account that he's a young lad and moving thousands of miles away from home and 5/6 months of training where he could easily not be at his best due to this. If Trippier comes in then I hope that Yedlin is loaned to a PL club rather than selling him.

I'd rather have Friedericks than Yedlin.

I'd would agree with this, but Fredericks had only a year left on his contract and if he can get first choice football elsewhere, he may not be willing to sign an extension -> us looking to sell to an interested buyer such as Boro (especially if they come up).

Makes me question the futures of both Walker and Yedlin if we sign Trippier, one of them will go if he comes in.
Not next season, mate. Poch will properly assess. The season after next will be more fine tuning and Walker will be off imo. I think this season will be his last here.

Sure, loaning him out would be a good option. But does people actually rate him or have most people just bought into the hype from american fans? Because if it's one thing they know how to do it's to hype their own players. His performance at the WC was good but that was like what, two games? Because he wasn't starting before the regular RB got injured IIRC.

Think it depends on how Walker performs next season, if it is a similar one to this season then yes he will be off, if he has a Rose season then he'll stay.

Such an exciting signing, I hope it's true.

We are absolutely loaded with right backs though.

Not really, we only have one first team quality RB and that is Walker. Dier is a CB and Yedlin obviously isn't good enough yet if he can't get a start over Dier.

He can't be that bad if he kept Hazard quiet in the WC. But hey, Poch knows better than all of us on here so he will have the best view on him.

Good player, and for 3.5m it's a no brainer, but the RB situation is gonna be tricky to manage.

If signed we'd have 5 RB's (Walker, Trippier, Yedlin, Fredricks, KWP), and I hope that doesn't hinder KWP's development, because I think he's got real potential.

I'd imagine Yedlin will go on a loan this season, Fredricks will be sold (only 1yr left on his contract too), KWP will have one more season in the U21's, and Walker and Trippier will fight it out for the first team spot.

Could be tricky after next season though as one of Yedlin, Walker or Trippier will have to be sold imo.

Best case scenario : Trippier has the same effect on Walker as Davies on Rose, and he returns to his PFA YPOTY 2012 form.

KWP needs 2 years to develop physically and tactically, and Yedlin likewise.

So Trippier and Walker go head to head for 2 seasons (once Walker is fit), until one leaves for more minutes.

Then promote Kyle Walker-Peters, Yedlin, or worst case sell 1 or 2 RBs and upgrade.

Besides which Trippier is currently a better defender and crosser than all of them.

Great move!

Hopefully he pushes Kyle out the door. The bloke needs a good kick up the ass. He thinks he's better than he actually is.
No, hopefully, he pushes Kyle to become a better RB, so we have two very good options that fit Pochettino's system.

I'd be bloody chuffed with him. Got a great cross on him which Kane will certainly benefit from.

Just to get Robertson from Hull now...
